Help on how to get MP3s in 2026 🙈

Help on how to get MP3s in 2026 🙈

My pre-teen likes to stay away from screens and is living her ‘vintage’ life and I’m all for it.

She would love a cassette player, but the cassettes themselves are of course very expensive now.

Back in the day, I used limewire to get my music. Then I switched over to iTunes buying each song individually until I could eventually just download them from Apple Music on my iPhone.

What platform would we use to get MP3 on the laptop now, so I can transfer them to a SD card and pop into the device (pictured).

I’d really like to make this happen for her, so she can stay away from a phone to listen to music without the distraction of notifications!

What is this appointment like and also self employment information

We’ve just had to sign on to universal credit while we get back on our feet.

I have to go in for an appointment to ‘certify certain aspects of your declaration and your identity’ but I’m FULL of anxiety. Can anyone please tell me what the appointment is like, what they ask or need etc, just so I can put my mind at rest?

Also, I’m self employed, they’ve yet to ask me anything about my finances. I make very minimal as I am a carer, so won’t only a few hours a week.

How will they need information about my income? Will they need expenditure and income separate? Just a figure each month? An income and expenses sheet etc? I’d like to be prepared for what they are going to need.

Where would you put a moulded pond?

These are (rough and not drawn to scale) measurements for our garden. (Second pic has ‘colour’ where overhanging tree is and brown for brambles)

We want to add a moulded wildlife pond that’s approx 2ft x 2.5ft

On the bottom left we have a drain in the grass, so we can’t put it there, bottom right of grass is veg bed, top left is a gate which is currently not used but could be in future and top right clear, but next doors butterfly bush is overhanging it a lot - would this cause an issue?

In the summer we have a gazebo on the patio, we definitely use the veg bed a lot.

This year it’s super thin (it’s never been fantastic) and it’s now flowered at the top?!

My second one is fatter but there isn’t much of it.

Is there anything I can do to help them? My poisonous rhubarb (3rd pic) is of course doing amazing 🤣)

We have a mini poodle who is 16, he’s find in himself, still plays but a lot more tired now he is older. His back legs I think are slowly going, but he eats and drinks fine.

Within the past 1-2 years I took him to the vets, they told me he needed some dental work, but also said the risk of him not making it through the anaesthesia was very high. As he was so old we talked about the advice given and decided it was best to leave him.

Instead we brought many many Dentastix, we brought a powder for his food that had very high ratings and some chews too. He eats NO human food, only his biscuits (which he has no issue in eating)

However, he is now almost 16, his breath smells very bad now and his teeth are visibly worse. Today he ate a dentasix and got a little blood on it.

I’ve booked him a wellbeing appt for next Tuesday, but I was wondering what I should be thinking about/considering etc. I’m so scared to lose him under a general, especially due to his age, we have also lost our income (and in turn any savings) in the past 6 months and I’m worried I cannot afford treatment.

I’m not sure what I’m looking for here, but advice, reassurance etc would be great.

Our new metal strimmer doesn’t reach the end of the garden. I’m using a 15m extension cable and recon I need about 25-30m instead.

My mum and step dad both assured me that it was safe enough to plug another extension cable into the first to reach the end. But I’m sure I’ve read that you should never chain extension cables.

Is it safe to chain them or is do I need to spend another £40 on a long enough cable? It’s the only item that would be plugged in, but it does apparently need a heavy duty cable due to high power.

Left side is mostly shaded (late afternoon sun), right side gets more sun (most of day), ground is very wet most of the time (fenland)

We need stuff that brambles won’t beat (because they come under the fence constantly) and not high maintenance.

We currently have a Gunnera (we planted it years ago as it was sold as ‘edible rhubarb’) which is growing really well and takes no care, so something else like that would be amazing!
