Do NOT pre-order Hell Let Loose on console. The open beta is PC exclusive, consoles are being left out before launch.
The open beta was just announced and it's PC exclusive on May 29th. Consoles do not get an open beta before release on June 18th.
Remember, this is an UE5 title and the fact that Team 17 is trying to hide the console versions leading up to launch should tell you everything you need to know.
Hell Let Loose was a disaster when it launched in 2021 for consoles: extreme rubberbanding, no server browser, tons of glitches and matchmaking errors, hitreg issues and more.
Please do not pre-order the sequel. Wait for reviews. Especially if you're on Playstation 5 where refunds are not possible.
By this time in 2022, Battlefield 2042 still only had its launch maps to offer and Season 1 was one month away
I feel like most people forgot how trash the live service in 2042 was. Season 1 was delayed to June 9th 2022 and when it launched, it came with one map (Exposure) and only one weapon (BSV-M). I don't count the meme crossbow as valid gun. Oh and we got the stealth chopper.
Compare it to BF6 and you can see they are clearly delivering more. Is it enough? Maybe not, but let's not downplay the improvement.
So far we got:
SOR-300C
Mini Scout
DB-12
M357 Trait
GGH-22
VCR-2
GRT-CPS
M121 A2
CZ3A1
M16A4
RPK-74M
L115
PP-19 (coming in three weeks with Cairo Bazaar).
We've also got a new transport vehicle with the Traverser MkII and the Little Bird.
I don't want to defend DICE, they should do more, I know that but I'll take BF6 live service over 2042 all day long. Battlefield V had only 4 maps added after 8 month and the BR map and only 8 weapons.
Yes, Premium delivered more but it wasn't free. By the metrics alone, BF6 does have the best live service in the series so far. By the end of this year, we'll match Battlefield V's entire two year map output already and it's safe to say that they won't cut off BF6 after year one.
I just want to spread some positivity here. The game is not bad and in my opinion on a good path forward. If they could increase it to three new maps regularly I'd be happy but it's far from bad at the moment. My only complaint is the always pointless phase 3 of each season with just time limited events and pointless skins and melee weapons. if they'd cut this out, it would be much tighter and more refreshing.

Oh my fucking god, is this an amazing map. Finally. Fucking FINALLY a proper Battlefield map with some downtime between engagements. Finally a map where the Traverser MkII is not a death trap. Finally a map where you can actually use helicopters and jets to their full potential.
The mountain village vibes are super beautiful, reminds me of Far Cry 4 with all the colorful ribbons. Infantry has their combat space while tanks duke it out in the open fields and the main road.
The new train is insanely fun to fight over, I love the change where it's headingg towards the enemy spawn if taken.
If future maps keep this quality, BF6 will be redeemed. The difference in quality to the launch maps is quite frankly staggering. I cannot wait for Tsuru Reef and Wake Island and Cairo Bazaar!

So much cringe but also nostalgia. I've come a long way since. But it's fun to see where I started

The map so good. Lots of verticality and fun capture zones to fight over.
Would this be considered a good idea or not so much? Just asking, please don't downvote. I'm not begging for it, I just thought about it. So instead of picking something like C4 or barbed wire, you get one stim that heals like 30HP or revives you to 20HP. Like a Rook west.
