Will you have to have an active mic to play?

I’ve seen some gameplay on the YouTubes and it looks really incredible, but I’m not too big on using mic when I’m gaming. I don’t tend to be a big talker when I’m gaming. I feel this cuts out a reasonable number of gamers which don’t like to use mic when they’re gaming.

I know for the first Hell Let Loose you pretty much need a mic to be properly engaged. In Vietnam will it be more optional or will it still be a pretty big requirement? Are the developers making this more optional or is it still being heavily hinged upon?

I do feel there should be more movement to make the game more inclusive for people that don’t want to use mic but still enjoy the game.

I am building Vietnam support into my HLL artillery calculator for the upcoming beta

Hey everyone. I have been following the Hell Let Loose Vietnam news closely and I am already getting the math ready for the new systems. I am a solo developer and I have been building an Android only utility for the current game. Instead of making a new app I am just going to build Vietnam support directly into the same one so it is ready for the playtest later this month.

I saw from the latest previews that the NVA has dedicated mortar units now while the US has access to heavy fire support so I am already looking into how the ranging will change compared to the fixed WW2 guns. Since the NVA mortars are meant to be more mobile I want to have the logic built out so we can use the calculator the second the servers go live for the open beta.

If you guys find the current app helpful for the WW2 maps I would love to know what you want to see for the jungle maps. Specifically I am curious if you think we will need more focus on mobile mortar teams for those asymmetric fights or if you think fixed positions will still be the meta.

Play Store Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=zz.arty.let.loose

Let me know what you think of the design plus any specific fire support gear you are hoping to see in the beta. See you in the jungle!

So... I'm pretty confused on the playtest.. I got invited 18 days ago.. created the first-look account and everything, linked my steam and discord.. and that's about it..

I received no notifications or additional information or invites. The playtest build didn't appear in staem...

Don't really understand when or if the playtest happened.. if I'm waiting for another notification.. idk.. lol

Hey, I was looking into this game’s trailer and it seems awesome. I’ve always wanted a Vietnam game.

I’m not sure how accurate it is or if this is something that’s already known but most English websites say 2026 as a release date so I figured I’d just mention here that 3 different game selling websites in my country’s Google first page results list 18 June 26 as the release date and are allowing a pre order at 39.99€ and one of them at 48€

Sorry if this is just already known or not true but yk, figured I’d mention given the lack of information I found in English.

So I have no life and love hell let loose. I am a retired 30 year old who just loves mil sim and history.

The first thing was just the motion blur and the color and lack of period music. I am a huge fan of HLL and Rising Storm. If any of you like Rising storm and have been following 83, Im going to say something rather controversial. The gunplay of 83 is way better than HLL Vietnam.

I hate the 2 shot to kill with all the main weapons in HLL Vietnam. If I shoot someone center mass with 7.62 from 250m, you bet your ass that mf is going down. But in HLL V I have to shoot everyone 2 times, and its a fucking hassle from any reasonable distance.

The choppers and the foliage and the performance is fine. I also have a very elite PC so I think its optimized for the current gen hardware.

I love this game so much. I love the community. I have no doubt that additional features and weapons and stuff will be added with time so im not too concerned about that. The fact that the map is a little more compact is good because HLL WWII could require a lot of running, even though i really appreciated how accurate the maps are to real life.

I like the boats, the choppers are great. Honestly I just want a modern version of Rising Storm Vietnam. If they can just make a current gen version of that game with more weapons, better maps, better gunplay, id have no problem sinking thousands of hours into it.

For now, its unpolished, its orange, its blurry as fuck, and the gunplay (most importantly) isnt that great. I dont mind the tunnels. I was on both sides that got rolled, its all about how the team works together.

Thats all I have to say for now. Its all about the minor tweaks at this point. Changes of variables and the like. If they can dial it in, they have a hit.

Did anyone else love how good the 1911 sounded? A random and I kept just shooting it while waiting for a chopper to spawn in, and man, it's gotta be the best sounding 1911 I've heard in a game to date. And I've played just about every game with a 1911 in it.

The more I thought about the classic rock requests for American win, I thought about it making more sense to have the national anthem of each country? Seems to make the licensing way easier too?

Thoughts?

SUUPPERRRR excited for this game as there’s not a single large scale tactical shooter on PS5 that’s set more recently than WW2 (besides like ARMA reforger or something 🤮). I completely dropped the ball on signing up for the beta testing stuff so I wasn’t able to participate. That being said just I just wanted to throw out a few questions to the people that did participate!

-How are the helicopters?? I’ve heard mixed reviews with some saying it’s really only good for troop transport (maybe that’s the intended main function?).

-Uniforms/troop presentation! I’m really just curious on how the Vietcong look in the game bc I think they could do some really cool stuff with their uniform design.

-As far as classes go, what’s the default/“grunt” weapon? I would imagine it’s the M16 for the US and the AK for the VC but who knows. And also are the class names and details the same as HLL WW2?

-Another one I’ve been curious about are the jungles in the game. How dense are they actually? Would be so cool if you and your squad were walking through the forest and you just start taking machine gun fire from 4 different directions.

-Victory music…what songs are they using for when the team wins? (like in HLL WW2 when they play “over there” when the allies win and “Erika” when the Germans win).

Hopefully these all make sense, I don’t really know how complete the game is or beta test details so you all may not have the slightest clue on half the stuff I just asked 😂 thanks anyways though!

Edit: ok so I had just been assuming that we’d be fighting the VC in this game but never really thought to think about the NVA. Are both factions in the game? Or just one?

We were told that we could drag allies on the ground. That's something that interested me, and since I wasn't able to join the beta and I haven't seen many people talking about it, I'd like to know your opinion.

Are there any bugs ? Is it really useful or just passable? And what could be improved ?

Console player here! What weapons are confirmed so far in the game? How do they feel compared to HLL? And are there attachments/variations of them? How is the TTK? We know macvsog used some unusual and distinct weapons. Will we see exotic stuff likeXM177/MP40/ Swedish K etc?

Anyone know if you’ll be able to use Keyboard & Mouse on Console with this game?

I prefer K&M but my PC is ageing like a horrible wine so my best option is to play on my series X for some stable performance.

Curious on how it was to shoot. Can you actually hit targets? Or is it like the half track heavy MGs?

Are you just one big target that gets insta killed immediately? It looks like you can’t self bandage while strapped in, which kind of sucks.
