I hope we see this guy in Season 2
Maul eventually returns to Dathomir, so it would be pretty cool, since we haven't seen a Fallen Order character in a TV Show / Movie yet...

Maul actually helt of Vader pretty well in this fight, while Daki was fighting Marrok and Devon Crow. Maul, with a broken leg and out of his comfort zone (having to go defense rather than offense), was able to hold off Vader for quite some time. We saw how quickly Vader broke through Daki's defense, even though Daki actually used Form 3.
You could also see Vader actually using more of his focus on Maul than Daki in the 2v1, showing he considers Maul more of a threat.
Daki surprised me too though, he made pretty quick work of Marrok, who is still very powerful. Plus he landed a hit on Vader.
Crow on the other hand had by far the easiest matchup in Devon, but didn't manage to solo her, which in itself is quite embarrassing, as I believe Vader and Marrok def would've made quick work of Devon. He was winning against her though, that's why Maul sensed it and left Daki.
Devon I think made a huge mistake to get seperated by Maul and Daki and should've stayed with them and act as a Support duelist. Devon indirectly caused Daki's death by leaving him alone with Maul and potentially losing the 1v1 against Crow.
All in all
Vader (MVP)
Maul (MVP)
Daki (MVP)
Marrok
Crow
Devon
I'm ranking Maul above Daki because he had the harder matchup in Vader, rather than Marrok.
I really enjoyed the Daki vs Marrok part, it is the perfect representation of skill vs experience.
Maul and Vader are already present enough in other Star Wars media, so the audience is already familiar with both characters.
Devon and 11th Brother are both the weakest links on their teams, and if Maul hadn't come to help Devon, 11th Brother probably would've killed Devon, since she only started winning when she tapped into the Dark Side.
I would've preferred the (Vader vs Maul / Vader vs Maul & Daki) fight more if Vader actually talked so the fight had more depth and more meaning. But honestly we all knew Vader was going to humble Maul bad, thats also one of the reasons I preferred the Daki vs Marrok one more.
That's why for me, Daki vs Marrok was by far the highlight of this fight, and seeing Master Daki take the W also feels right in that moment.
I feel like for me, Top Laner's and ADC get along the best.
after that probably Mid
Jungle is 50 / 50 cuz we interact with them the most, but mostly I would put it last because Jungle can grief your lane and make it very hard
and then Support I would put 2nd to last, because we interact the least, except Sup randomly roams Top, which nowadays isn't worth it in most cases
The relationship between those 6 characters is very interesting.
Anakin considered Yoda & Palpatine friends, but he was def closer to Palpatine. Though Anakin did say "of course" when Yoda asked him, if they were friends, so I think Anakin does have great respect for Yoda. I wish they would have had more interactions.
About Mace and Dooku, they both disliked Anakin for their own pitiful reason imo. Mace respects following rules and protocol, which is also one of the reasons I think he respects Obi-Wan. Dooku doesn't respect Anakin's use of a prosthetic arm and for some reason doesn't consider Anakin a "worthy adversary", even though he almost beat him on Naboo...
As mentioned before, Mace I think respects Obi-Wan, because he sees himself in him a bit (rule follower guy), but also respects Obi-Wan's mastery of Form 3, and I think Mace actually considers Obi-Wan one of his closest personal friends, next to Yoda.
Dooku respects Obi-Wan for a completely different reason. I think he projects Qui-Gon into Obi-Wan, since Qui-Gon's teachings live on in Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon also spoke very highly of him. I think he also respects Obi-Wan being a civilized dude, since he himself is coming from a civilized background.
I think the way Maul treats his allies: Rook, Zabraks, even Vario was very interesting.
Also surprised he offered Vario to leave and choose if he wants to stay or not.
If you look for example how Vader / Grievous or even Dooku / Sidious treat their allies the difference is night and day.
Maul seems like he actually cares about his crew, values their input and accepts other opinions. But especially in Episode 7-10, he had some questionable leadership, which his crew sadly paid the price for.
Vader is only 24 in this show.
Meaning Vader is closer in age to Devon than to Maul... lmao...
As we know, basically 100% of Inquisitors are former Jedi, that got either tortured or joined willingly.
This show is only 1 year after the fall of Jedi order, but these two seem to be pretty deeply fallen into the dark side, unlike some other Inquisitors, who were still conflicted (Trilla, Barriss).
Even despite Maul's leg being broken, to go toe to toe with him and both of them breaking through his force shield by force pushing him, takes some skill to say the least.
So they weren't no Padawans, either respectable Jedi Knights or Jedi Masters (like Lyn and the 10th Brother) OR my favourite theory: fellow Temple Guards, who helped the Grand Inquisitor and Anakin during Operation Knightfall.
(last words: it is pretty weird how deeply they are fallen into the darkside so soon, it takes some time to develop this kind of hatred towards the Jedi... even Anakin and Pong Krell had it developed for years and saw visions through the force.
the same question I have for Taron Malicos, another fallen Jedi General, since he pretty much admitted that the Jedi "fell long before the purge", so there must be some extreme hidden wing among the Jedi, who actually already fell to the darkside, but just stayed hidden)
So who is he talking to here Vader or Sidious?
Because obviously he calls him "my lord", so it should be Vader, right? Also it would be weird if one simple Inquisitor had direct access to Sidious. Since the Inquisitors actually belong to Vader, so they should always report to him.
But then in the latest Episode 7 & 8, Marrok actually says "There is no surrender for you, the Emperor wants you dead".
So is he insinuating he's following the Emperors direct orders? Or did Vader just tell him that those were Sidious orders?
Eeko-Dio Daki & Devon Itzara can barely take on Marrok alone, plus with the Crow joining him, they probably can't defeat them without Maul. Also, Maul's legs are defect, so he also can't defeat them without the great Eeko-Dio Daki or maybe even Devon.
I feel like Vader doesn't even fit in this story, and even if he were to show up, he'd just wipe em all out within seconds.
Before Episode 7 you could make the argument, maybe this is peak Maul and Vader is just 1 year in his suit, so not in his prime yet. So maybe it would get close.
But after Maul vs Crow & Marrok, there is no argument to be made about Maul having a single chance, unless he gets his leg repaired and somehow manages to team up with the great Eeko-Dio Daki.
