Etsy needs to raise the $35 free shipping threshold. This isn’t sustainable anymore.

Okay I need to know if I’m the only one feeling this or if we’re all just quietly eating this cost. USPS has raised shipping multiple times in the past year. Between 2025 and now, we’re looking at roughly 25% increases on average, and in some cases it honestly feels closer to 30% depending on weight and zone. Etsy is still pushing the $35 free shipping threshold like nothing has changed.

At this point, shipping on a $35 order can easily eat a huge chunk of the profit. For a lot of us, that’s not a small hit, that’s the difference between making money and basically breaking even. I get that Etsy uses free shipping as a conversion tool. I’m not arguing that. But the threshold hasn’t kept up with reality.

If shipping costs keep going up, the free shipping minimum needs to go up too. $50 would make a lot more sense in today’s market.
