Be honest, but keep it safe and non-harmful. Just those random, weird, or slightly uncomfortable thoughts that pop into your head and you instantly wonder, “is it just me?”

I’m in a situation where someone close to me has habits/behaviors that are starting to affect me more than I’m comfortable with. I’ve tried bringing it up gently, but I don’t think it’s really landing, and I don’t want things to build up into resentment. At the same time, I don’t want to come across as controlling or push them away by being too direct. How do you clearly set boundaries while still keeping the relationship healthy and respectful?

Be honest, but keep it civil. We all have those quiet opinions we don’t say out loud because they’re either unfair, random, or just socially “not okay” to admit.
