2 rear speakers mounting

I was thinking of adding 2 rears to my setup. I have about 9” gap behind my couch, and 13” on the left and right sides.

Is there enough room? Should I get stands? How high should they be? Or should I just skip them and stick w my 3.1?

Patio bi-fold door brand recommendations? Eris? Teza? HomeDoorsLLC? Other

Im of need of a 96" wide x 80" tall bi-fold patio door. I dont want to break the bank, but I also dont want maintenance issues down the road.

This is sort of a "budget" project (w/ these doors being the more expensive part) so don't want to spend a fortune, so have been looking at stuff on HomeDepot (also, the shipping/returns/replacements if good forbid something goes wrong)

So far Eris is my top choice, but saw there Teza too. I then ran across HomeDoorsLLC which is much cheaper, but can't find any reviews/info on its quality.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Experiences?

Hinge to support picture frame over inset/flush cabinet door

I’m back with another insect cabinet door question.

My “Carpenter” installed this inset/flush cabinet in wall, above my toilet so I can put toilet paper in there .

I asked for the door to have a wide swing so I could put a narrow picture frame over the door and the frame of the picture wouldn’t hit the wall as its opens. He obviously forgot this aspect of it and the door swing is incredibly tight and even rubs on the return a little bit.

Is what I’m asking feasible? If so, what sort of hinge would I use? Or should I be thinking of other approaches?

Smallest fridge with water & ice

I have an outdoor shed that I’m going to turn into a small drink station for the patio. I am looking for a budget refrigerator that will primarily hold beverages but I also want it to dispense water as well as ice since there is no sink in the shed (there’s no drain drainage.)

The shed is quite small ~ 9 feet wide by 4 feet deep so I want to keep the fridge is narrow as possible, as well as counter depth — I will have counters to the side of it. The best I found is the Bosch 800 which is 24 inches wide counter depth and has both water dispensing and an ice maker. However, this is expensive at $3000+. Are there any alternatives that you’re aware of even if it’s a mini fridge?

F&P speedoven and popcorn

I have a new fisher and paykel speed oven and I am struggling to find a good setting to make microwave popcorn the speed oven has a popcorn setting, which seems to just preset three minutes on the microwave timer, but this is not nearly enough and the bag is less than half popped. I’ve tried adjusting the time up to four minutes, and the popcorn is starting to get a little burnt and dry I’ve tried between three minutes and four minutes and I can’t find anything that makes a great bag. My old GE microwave made a great bag every time should I be adjusting the power of the microwave? Should I be adjusting the placement of the popcorn bag? Any tips?

I have a sort-of-home theatre question...

So, I have a roof deck with a headhouse on it. Basically it’s a small 9ft x 4ft structure on the roof , traditionally where the stairwell comes up, but mine has some cabinets and a mini fridge in it. One of the 9ft wall is a big accordion/sliding door that opens to the right.

My project this summer is to mount a TV on the wall opposite the door so I can watch games while hanging out on the deck. The TV would sit inside the headhouse, and I’d be watching from outside through the open doorway.

Plan right now is to get a cheap(er) 65" TV that throws as much light as possible, and use an Apple TV 4K in a media box behind it.

My main question is audio. Since I’ll be sitting outside, probably 10-12 feet from the TV, I’m assuming the built-in speakers are going to sound pretty weak (Im in the city, so there's general noise).

I dont need amazing audio, but I dont want terrible "tv speaker" level audio either; especailly if its competing w/ birds, cars, etc.

Would a SBar mounted inside the headhouse under the TV (maybe sitting on the cabinets below the TV) be enough for this kind of setup, or would I be better off mounting a pair of outdoor speakers on the sides of the headhouse? If I went the outdoor speaker route, what’s the easiest way to power them? Small amp off the TV’s optical/eARC output? Bluetooth? Curious what people would do here. I want to keep it simple, with getting some decent audio. (I wont be blasting anything too loud since i wont want to annoy my neighbors).

Any other general thoughts/concerns here?

I have a flush cabinet door (flush with the wall) and im trying to switch out the hinges (the old liberty hinges couldnt adjust so the gaps were all uneven around the the door. these worked because they cranked like 1/2" out; my blumns crank maybe 1/4"?)

I have some blum hinges however when i install and adjust (both sorts shown in the pictures) the back-edge of the cabinet door hits the inset cutout.

Whats the trick for getting the cabinet door to cleanly swing open/close and allow me to adjust to the gap on all 4 sides is ~uniform?

I recently went to Italy and had some amazing olive oil in Trevi (Umbria) - it’s a local oil from the region, and I foolishly didn’t bring and back.

Does anyone know where I could order this (Marca Stella) to the USA? Or if bout suggestions on similar taste? (The taste was absolutely incredible and no other olive oil I had there tasted as good)

▲ 7 r/AntiqueStairs+1 crossposts

I have an old late 1800s stairwell, and the original banister is wobbly. I've seen straight handrail brackets/arms/stabilizers that attach to the adjacent wall that stabilize the banister -- however I cannot for the life of me figure out where I can buy them, or even what their proper name is.

I've drawn in red where it would go - it screws into the wall, and somehow attaches to the bannister. The second picture is one i saw at a recent open house (though i should've gotten a more complete picture).

Any pointers on how to find where to buy these? or what theyre called?

I want to replace this faucet aerator (it sprays in individual streams). I can remove it with a TJ key, so thats the diameter - but its much shorter (low profile) than most aerators.

What spec do i look for to find a low profile aerator like this? Does Neoperl make something liek this in 1.2 GPM?

I see stuff like this on THD, but i assume it wont fit since its not TJ...?
