r/hometheatre

Hey guys, so I’m in the process of buying a new home and wanted to really get a perfect home theatre, starting from the ground up.
I’ll type out what I’m thinking right now but am completely open to any suggestions.

60-70k AUD budget for the equipment including acoustic treatment, not including furniture. The room will be built by design so I’m open to ideas of dimensions too. But I’m thinking like a 3+3 seating design with an elevated platform for the rear seats. Would 4x6m be good enough for the room itself? Can be adjusted within reason.

I’m thinking like JVC NZ800 and a Krix system. I’d love to have the LCR behind the screen and out of the way. Would love like a comprehensive list of recommended components that go well together!

I value absolutely spine-tickling bass (like louddd) and love like the imax philosophy of clear channel separation.

Not sure if this info will help but I’m coming off a JBL 1300MK2 and I do love it for what it is.

Thank you all for your advice!

Hello - I have Denon X4800H which was originally used as 7.1 with Left, Center, Right, Surround Left, Surround Right, Surround Back Left, Surround Back Right

For Atmos currently I am using the Surround Back speakers as Rear Heights and added two front heights. Thinking of going 11 and bring back my Surround Backs and have dedicated rear heights which means I need to power 2 channels via preouts via amp and looking for recommendation of doing this setup.

Any recommendation of decent amp that doesnt break the bank(<$200) or if I should look higher. Plus Should I drife my L& R via amp or use the amp for my rear heights?

Thanks

Got a new home theatre with BenQ projector. Want to get a streaming device in India. Pls give suggestions. Is Nvidia shield and dune worth the hype and prices? I am thinking to just go with Google chrome cast 4k.

Open Concept theatre build with some before pictures.

Hey all, using some existing things I had, mostly the Sonos system, I redid my basement area to still maintain the open concept of the room but added some rear walls for better surround placement and acoustic separation.

Setup information

  • DengBei S7 Ultra Max
  • SilverTicket High Contrast Screen (128")
  • Sonos Arc Ultra
  • Sonos Sub (2x)
  • Sonos Era 300's

Velvet Blackout Curtains
SelectBlinds Complete Blackout shade (Not shown in picture)

Super happy with the projector, it's bright enough to easily use in daytime and has a really great picture.

Despite not having huge towers and center channel, the Sonos system works really well and I have no complaints. I'm sure I'll see some comments here giving otherwise, and while the room is prewired if I ever do go a different solution, I have no intent to change this any time soon.
