Mushroom grew in my dying prayer plant’s pot

This prayer plant has been dying, out of desperation took one of the last salvageable propagations and tried potting with some new soil. This mushroom grew overnight a few weeks later. Does this mean that bag of potting soil is bad?

Where does one buy a small amount, like one bag, of soy curls to try them out before committing to ordering in bulk direct from Butlers? I haven’t seen them in any grocery stores around me- is there an online source or do I just try to make a trip to a specialty organic food store?
