I’ve been fostering the child in my care since he was 21 months old. He is now 5 years old. Parental rights were terminated last year and I’m in the process of adopting him. In his 4 years in care, he has never spent a Mother’s Day with his biological mother. We actually tried one year but she cancelled.

He never really knew his biological mother because the visits were always supervised and of a very short duration (less than an hour or so and for a good stretch they weren’t happening at all).

He knows that he is not our biological child and has been asking a lot of questions about his birth in particular. I’ve talked to him about his biological mom and tried to reassure him that she loved him and that we love him too.

I love this kid as much as a human heart can. I want to try to approach his adoption the best way that I can. I go to foster/adoptive conferences. I read and listen to as many adoptee stories as I can. In doing so, I realize that Mother’s Day can be a very triggering day for some adoptees.

He very rarely mentions her and the more time passes, she is becoming a fainter memory. We tried to establish a relationship with her, but she isn’t ready for that at this time (maybe one day).

Is there anything that I can do to honor his mom? I don’t want to pretend like she doesn’t exist. I don’t want to traumatize him either by pushing her absence on him, especially since he doesn’t seem phased by it. Idk what to do. I love him so much and I want the best for him. Any advice is appreciated.

I have 3 kids ages 5, 2, and 2 months old. We are going to Disney for the 4th of July week. I’m insanely worried about the weather. I’ve purchased the Shark Chill Pill for each of us and plan to bring cooling towels. We also plan to arrive at the parks after 2pm because of the tickets we purchased. We are staying at the Cabins at Fort Wilderness. Day 1 will be a waterpark day (we are getting a cabana so I’m less worried about the weather). And we will be doing 2 park days in total (Magic Kingdom and Epcot) with resort days in between for a 5 night stay.

I have 2 strollers: a Nuna TRVL for the newborn and a Baby Jogger Double City Mini for my two older kids. I am looking for rain covers and was wondering if I could tap into the brain trust to see if anyone has a good brand that they can recommend. Ideally, the rain cover would fold up when not in use and have something to store it in.

Any other recommendations for weather gear for our summer trip would be appreciated. I am trying to pack light to the park, but want to make sure that we have everything that we need.

Hi everyone! I’m new to the platform and have made about 15 sales in the last month. Poshmark has been become my maternity leave hobby. I’m not looking to make money, rather looking to clear out my closet of items that I no longer connect with or that my kids have outgrown.

My primary goal is to get rid of items in a fun way (and preferably quickly). Has anyone had success with mystery bundles? I’m thinking of putting a couple together as a way to reduce my time taking pictures and measurements. My idea was to pre-bundle the clothes and say something along the lines of “5 items, mainly workwear, size small, good condition.”

Do these bundles move? Or just keep photographing and individually posting items?
