Anyone got a good guide to “verbal self-defense”?
Growing up, even my very sheltering mother acknowledged that I should know how to throw a punch in case I needed to defend myself. But insulting people was seen as too much.
Well, fuck that. Some people are awful and can’t be reached through intellectual debate and if you can’t avoid them then making them feel bad about themselves every time they say something vile is the only way to modify their behavior and making them look foolish is the best way to stop their ideas from spreading.
There are self-help books about everything, surely some savant has written a guide to winning verbal confrontations that is geared towards the humble autistic, and not the power-hungry businessman?
