Foundation for over 50 for lifelong oily faces?

I’m not nearly as oily as I once was but I’m certainly not dry however my skin is still aging and not as firm and plump as it once was. Losing 70 lbs over the past 3 years probably doesn’t help either.
I have been using Froya for the past 6 months and am really happy with it and my skin using it however since it is oil based when I apply anything water based over it they just don’t mix. Using primer and rubbing in the froya really well helps but I worry that isn’t the greatest for my skin.

Most days I want light to medium coverage. I have some uneven-ness and scarring from acne and since my skin is extremely pale and prone to scar it lasts forever. I have been using laura Geller balance and brighten but while the porcelain matches my winter skin the fair looks orange on me in the summer. And the fuller coverage version is too much. I have a liquid foundation I have been using for when I want fuller coverage but it isn’t doing me any favors. Last night I dressed up and was very disappointed at how my makeup looked and couldn’t figure out what to do. It saw many more wrinkles after I had my makeup on than before. I have been trying to use a tinted moisturizer but it won’t rub in over the froya.

To make things a bit more challenging I have sensitive skin and am quite scent sensitive so anything with a strong or long lasting smell I can’t use. Especially if it is a floral scent. I have tried a few makeup setting sprays but each one had a scent I couldn’t tolerate so I gave up.

Any suggestions for something that will look good on my not as oily as it once was but not dry however certainly aging skin? Something that may help to plump it up? Or at least not make it look worse?

I am long time dxed with adhd now self dxed asd at 54. My husband has a recent formal dx of adhd from testing and an informal dx of asd from therapist. I find myself wondering if I know anyone well who is neurotypical. Both of my children are dxed AuDHD. My mother considers ADHD to be simply being a person from my father’s family. (She brings the more asd traits to the gene pool). I think back and wonder who I have known in my life who wasn’t somehow neurodiverse. A couple that invited us over for dinner early in our marriage come to mind. We nicknamed them (to ourselves) “The Borings” and avoided their company after one evening together. Perhaps it was because they were NT and we just couldn’t connect?

I find myself thinking a lot about what I have missed or misunderstood from the NT world. In some ways it seems to me like no one is NT since I see neurodiversity all over the people I know well but then I read statistics about rates of asd and it isn’t a majority so clearly something is off. Either I’m misunderstanding the people I know (possible I’m sure) or I just naturally gravitate toward more ND people and “self select”.

Of course that makes it even more difficult for me to understand the NT perspective. Thoughts? Experiences?

My offspring wanted to make a prom dress very last minute and didn’t have the skills. I ended up in charge despite being very rusty. Then they picked satin and chiffon at the fabric store! (Thankfully there still is one near me). I hadn’t ever sewn such slippery fabric before but I have memories of my mother talking about how difficult it can be.

We couldn’t find a dress pattern to match their vision so we did a blouse and skirt. The blouse is basically the folkwear 205 Gibson girl blouse with some changes to the sleeves and collar. The skirt is McCalls 1980's misses Laura Ashley Blouse, vest, Skirt and Petticoat pattern. We just made the Petticoat.

The main fabric is polyester crepe backed satin in the color peacock. The sleeves are chiffon i think. Also polyester.

Thanks to tips I gleaned from this forum
-I used clips instead of pins.
-I starched the fabric before cutting it out and more before/while sewing as needed to get it to behave. (Just had to wash it out at the end. Thankfully polyester dries fast)
-I added French seams to nearly everything. (A new skill).
-I did use fray stop a few places but it left a dark spot and made the fabric stiff so I couldn’t use it on anything that would be close to skin or exposed.

I’m sure there is more. I’m just so thankful you were there for me even though you didn’t even realize it.

I have a cheap machine. Singer 1234. I'm a competent but extremely rusty sewer frantically sewing a prom outfit for my offspring. Why isn't important but I have accomplished a remarkable amount in a very short time only to hit a wall with this machine.

While doing this project this has happened a few times and always resolved with a new needle and cleaning the bobbin area. This time it isn't resolving.

I replaced the needle twice in case the new one was faulty.

I gave it a very thorough cleaning and a drop of oil.

I have checked that my bobbin isn't in backwards multiple times (a chronic issue with me).

I have rethreaded the machine.

When I run the machine without thread it runs fine. As soon as I start to stitch on a scrap of cloth it runs loud and sometimes gets stuck.

The thread on the bobbin looks fine.

What have I not thought of/tried?

Prom is in 2 days and no way can I hand stitch what is left to do.
