Hey, looking for some genuine advice here.

I gave GATE BT 2026, got a score of 601 and AIR 327. Applied to M.Tech Structural & Computational Biology at IIT Roorkee as my first preference. Skipped GPAT entirely and focused on this program.

Here's the confusing part — B.Pharma students are already studying in this program at IITR (admitted in 2024). The eligibility criteria in the brochure hasn't changed since then. And when I filled my application with my full educational details, the SCB program showed up as an option — the portal never said I was ineligible.

Now I've been told I don't qualify for SCB and they're offering me Metallurgy instead. No explanation, no specific clause cited.

Because this was my top priority I applied to very few other IITs, so my options are limited now.

Just wanted to ask — has anyone dealt with something like this before? Is a High Court writ petition worth trying during admission season? And are there any other good institutes with computational biology / structural biology programs where a GATE BT score is accepted?
