There is no hope for TN given how people are sticking out their necks and supporting whoever they voted for. I mean why can't people keep their own parties accountable without trying to justify corruption and hooliganism as a necessary evil.
My best friend voted for dmk and and I never knew he was a die hard dmk supporter since and when he knew I voted for he started ranting as usual about dravidianism and the welfare scheme that they brought. I am sure dmk introduced a lot of welfare schemes in the past through which we all benefitted somehow either directly or indirectly. But they never talk about governance and the party is corrupt to its peak. They just appease poor people with welfare schemes, minorities from imaginary protection from BJP and ideological bullshit. They don't follow samooga needhi within their own party and follow dynastic politics. Whenever I call out on this he just gets raged out and says "politics lam dhuddu irundha mattum dhan pana mudiyum, adhan corruption panranga, undhu lam rich people problems evlo pengaluku 1000rs useful ah iruku nu unaku therla, nee poi bihar up lam pathutu va apo dhan tn oda aruma theriyum, kaasu adichalum naanga nalladhu pannuvom" when I further bring in logical arguments that this is all affecting TN's health on a long term basis even though people might ignore many of these factors the burden will finally fall on common people's head, he goes on to saying adhellam ila ella debt um localised so prachana varadhu and yaaru aatchi ku vandhalum idhan nelama.
So after getting educated and starting to pay taxes, I get enraged when ever I see patchworks on newly laid roads, plastic waste everywhere, having to pay bribes even when I am at the right, banners and poster everyfucking where like who the fuck wants to see "vidiyal payanam" on digital buses when I want to know the bus number, claiming as if they are gods for introducing with our funds. If hero worship culture is bad then politician worship culture is even worse.
