Any exhibitions or Gilded Age places to visit you recommend?

I’m in the UK so the main one is Blenheim Palace.

I thought this would be a good place for people to suggest, we can all put it on our to do lists even if we can’t all travel around!

I’d love to see a costume exhibition. Downton Abbey had one here just before the stuff was auctioned off, it was amazing to see all the details up close!

Queen Alexandra of Denmark (and Princess of Wales) and Princess Diana

I’ve always felt these two look alike! Especially in Alexandra’s younger years.

As far as I’m aware there’s no concrete evidence to back this up but apparently Diana had a framed portrait of Alexandra in her Kensington Palace apartments because she felt connected to the similarities between them.

Is the Mayhem Requiem live album being released the same time everywhere?

Just wondered if there’s a chance we may be able to hear the album as usually New Zealand get it first 👀

I don’t know if I’m seeing empathy, advice or anything in between! I have no idea where to turn with my feelings.

I’ve been with my partner for 5 years. He can be incredibly childlike and always needs a nudge, reminder and is essentially like a teenager stuck in his room all day (he’s 30). He has many mental health conditions from health anxiety to OCD. These conditions in recent years have taken pride of place in the relationship. He will continuously talk about how ill he feels, it will just dominate everything. It can be from a scratch, to a cold. To anything. Obviously there’s only so many times a person can say “you’ll be ok” when you’re being told the same thing over and over.

He seems to get frustrated that no one can really do anything to take whatever next ailment is consuming him. I do feel sorry for him, but after all this time I’m beginning to be more frustrated and overstimulated by him.

We don’t really have a sex life anymore. He’s either hyper sexual or zero sexual. Usually zero. In some ways this is the least of the issues but of course when I look overall at the relationship, it feels more like I’m a parent reassuring and accommodating a child than a proper equal relationship.

I love him. I don’t want to end the relationship. But I’m feeling burnt out.

It sounds taboo to talk about but whenever I’m with guys they like er inhaling my scent so to speak

On the rare occasion I top and eat ass, I also like breathing in the scent. What is the science behind this.

I was diagnosed with ADHD last year and am still waiting for medication.

In the last few years I’ve been experiencing a lot of stress especially at home, which in my mind, has made my ADHD worse, but of course it’s not actually having ADHD that exasperates it, more the other way around.

I’m just wondering if anyone has experience of going from genuinely feeling ill daily, between hyper/anxious to fatigued and drained, did medication help?

I’ve spent my whole life on the more erratic end of the scale and since hitting my 30s it’s caught up with me!

Alexandra of Denmark, Princess of Wales AND Queen of the United Kingdom from 1901-1910.

I don’t think she’s ever been depicted before in a drama.

I can’t remember where I read it but apparently Princess Diana had a portrait of her in her apartments at Kensington Palace and felt connected to her and her story.

There’s so many Romanov books to read!

I owned this book years ago on hardback and for some reason can’t locate it! So I will have to purchase again. I am most fascinated by the sisters, especially Tatiana and Anastasia.

Would love to know this sub’s views on this book

Looking at Wikipedia, there’s never been a series about the Russian royal family. There is a film from the 70s and a Netflix documentary series but that’s it.

Season 5 of The Crown delivered one of its best episodes about how Philip was key to identifying their bodies through DNA. It was a really raw and intense episode.

Peter Morgan and The Crown delivers history with class. I would love if the series has a few episodes featuring the Romanovs.

The series will span from Queen Victoria’s death in 1901 to Queen Elizabeth II’s wedding in 1947.

I’m assuming it will be a stand alone series? Or possibly at most two series (remember how S1 & S2 were always filmed back to back, same with S3 and S4 and 5&6).

I’m looking forward to seeing Elizabeth and Margaret and children, but that will come later I assume.

Season 5 had an episode dedicated to the Russian Royal family the Romanovs. Could this be explored even more here? They were executed in 1918.

The whole thing of Joffrey mentioning her death in Game Of Thrones doesn’t really mean anything. It could be one of those “legend has it” stories in Westeros. No idea if Rhaneyra has a tomb or burial place in GOT universe but if she’s literally eaten by a dragon I should imagine there wasn’t much left.
