I’m trying to compare the real monthly cost of Sora Pro vs Seedance.
With Sora Pro’s 10-second mode, the monthly output is roughly:
100 clips/day × 30 days × 10 sec
= 3,000 clips
= 30,000 seconds
= 8h 20m of video
Since Sora Pro is $200/month, that comes out to about:
$0.0067/sec
or
$0.067 per 10-second clip
Then I entered the same 30,000 seconds into seedanceprice.com:
Seedance 2.0 Fast 480p: around $1,548
Seedance 2.0 Standard 480p: around $2,328
So Seedance looks around:
7.7× more expensive for Fast 480p
11.6× more expensive for Standard 480p
am I missing something, or can Seedance really justify being 8–12× more expensive than Sora Pro?
Sora is a generator that came from the future. We created everything we once dreamed could happen in the world, events that could never happen, scenes beyond reality. It made anyone feel famous. People who couldn’t walk, and even the elderly, were able to go anywhere in the world. Things that once lived only in our imagination were brought down to reality and became real.
That is why Sora was a vision of the future through a screen. It doesn’t matter if they never create anything like it again, what matters is that we experienced something no one in this world has ever experienced since the beginning of humanity.
Finally, I want to thank the moderators and all the members of this Reddit community. We learned so much together, and tomorrow will always be better.
