Tips for my (33f) long-term visit to boyfriend’s (29m) city?

My boyfriend and I have been together for 8 months after meeting in his country. Since then, he’s visited me for 6 weeks and I’ve made two 3 week visits to see him. Our next time together will be this summer - I will be staying with him for 3-4 months. The intent is for this to be a trial run to see if I would want to move to his country permanently.

We’re both really excited :) and expects this to be more like “real life” together rather than vacation-style visits. Usually during visits, we’re together 24/7, showing each other around, meeting friends/family, etc. We’ll of course still do a lot of that but are trying to plan ways to make it as “real life” as possible so that we can get a true feel for what that would be like together. And most importantly, see if I feel at home enough to make a 5,000mile+ move..

Here are the things we’ve planned so far:

- We’ll both be working (me remotely), though will have some long weekend trips
- I’ll be joining his gym and taking work out classes
- I’ll also be taking language classes
- I’m hoping to make friends from these classes, but also have met a couple girlfriends of my boyfriend’s friends that I plan to connect and spend more time with
- My sister and a couple friends will be making visits throughout the summer as well

Any tips for other ways to make the most of this time? Obviously hoping it all goes great, but want to make sure it’s a realistic experience as well so that we can make an informed decision.

For a long time, I had nightmares about my teeth falling out. I suspected this was because I was avoiding the dentist and sure enough, after I went to the dentist, the nightmares stopped.

After I left an abusive relationship, I had frequent nightmares about my ex. With time and therapy, the nightmares eventually (mostly) stopped.

Recently, I have nightmares about still being in a relationship with my exes. We’re on vacation together, living together, or just somehow still together even though I want to break up with them but somehow can’t. I will literally cycle through all 4 of my exes over the course of a few weeks, then begin again. They’re not quite as “nightmare”-ish as the two prior examples but I don’t enjoy them and would like them to stop. I’m in a happy relationship now and interestingly have not had any nightmares about him (but who knows!).

What are your recurring nightmares? Any tips on getting rid of them?
