Finally buzzed my hair after years of overthinking it. GF hates it, I kinda love it
Finally decided to just do it and buzzed my hair down to around 6mm after thinking about it for a long time. I’ve been dealing with recession/thinning and honestly got tired of constantly thinking about my hair, styling around it, paying for barbers, wondering how a buzzcut would look on me, etc.
At some point today I thought: screw it, hair grows back anyway.
Honestly I expected it to look way worse than it actually does. I kinda like the sharper/cleaner look and it feels pretty freeing so far.
My girlfriend on the other hand really doesn’t like it lol. She already told me before that she wouldn’t be into a buzzcut, and after I showed her she reacted pretty harshly. I jokingly sent a pic asking “how’s the filter?” and she replied “I hope for you it’s not a filter.” and she's kind of pissed at me rn for doing it.
And honestly, while I get that everyone has preferences, at the end of the day it’s still my life and my hair. I wanted to try something I’d been thinking about for a long time instead of constantly stressing over it. If someone suddenly finds me unattractive because I buzzed my hair, then maybe that says something too.
Curious what other people think though:
Did anyone else here buzz their hair and end up liking it more than expected? And did people around you need time to adjust? How did it affect you and the one's around you?
