Should I chose vibram xs grip 2 in 4mm or 5mm thickness? Same price

I am on day 9 and tomorrow my stitches should be removed. since yesterday I noticed a hole in my bottom left socket and today I taste a salty liquid/saliva coming from the socket. What could be the reasom for that?
