Apotheosis

The elevation of all three aspects of a person (Mind, Soul, and Body) to their most perfect, most ideal form through means of mental, spiritual, and physical Alchemical self-evolution; metapsychosis, enlightenment, and primary transmutation.

Apotheosis is achievable only through Lawful Alchemy.

The Endless Hunt

Scattered across the vast lands of the Empire and locked away in secret subterranean vaults, these shrieking, writhing once-humans waste away in the darkness. They are the product of failed Apotheosis of ages past; the remnants of Alchemists who thought themselves above hubris.

For nearly the past century, the Second Mander Empire and The Court of Lawful Alchemy have shown a keen interest in the location and recovery of all Apotheotic Beings.

The specimens are taken to the Theatres of the Vatic Colleges, where the horrors of the worlds are systematically studied and dismantled; and even the most anomalous things are made mundane under the cold light or reason. A thorough understanding of the mental, spiritual, and physical composition of these creatures might provide insights on Apotheosis attempts from the First Mander Empire. Thereby informing future attempts for The Court in years to come.

While Apotheotic research is officially restricted to the Theatres of the Vatic College itself, some administrators have reported hearing faint shrieking echoing from the deepest chambers of The Court. These rumors have been vehemently refuted by all three Judges, as The Court would have no reason to keep such beings themselves.

The Empire and The Court conduct these tasks in utmost secrecy. The program is even hidden from most officials within the Imperial bureaucracy itself. It is on a strictly need-to-know basis.
