I hate living in a Red state. Any advice?

Recently broke up with ex-girlfriend of 8 years, never married. Have 2 girls; 6 months old and 6 years old. She wants to take them from me as much as legally possible and get as much child support as she can so, cool, I thought "time for a lawyer". Basically every lawyer I've spoken to said not only will I likely never get 50/50 but the "state guideline minimums" actually no longer apply to the 6 year old because of the age difference. Basically, they won't split up the kids so the 6 year old doesn't get to have 6 year old state guidelines, she has to follow the 6 month old state guidelines pretty rigidly. There's flexibility but not much.

So, not only will I not get 50/50 but I'm getting LESS time than originally planned! Yay me! My daughter is gonna love it, ya know...being a daddy's girl who's crying every night for her dad.

When you basically get told "Hiring me would be a waste of time and money in this case" by a lawyer...you know you live in a wonderful place!

Almost 32 year old male here, I currently work at a factory and I’m not gonna lie…I’m really burnt out. It’s not only the job itself but the factory life and the people, especially management. Everyone is just…so miserable and they desperately want to make you as miserable as them.

I haven’t worked in a restaurant since I was 22 where I was a server for about a year. Right now I’m making around $60-70,000 a year but that’s WITH overtime. Think 55~ hours a week.

I honestly just want a change…

So couple questions;

  1. Would I, at least, be able to match that? I’m in Indiana. Not much “fine dining”.

Been a welder at a manufacturing plant for a long while, just wanting to try a different industry but don't know where to start. Don't mind hard work or bullshit work. Where would I go about looking for work though? I'm in the Midwest(Indiana specifically) and what's the usual pay starting out?

I just got out of a bad breakup, moved in with my parents(let my ex keep the house we rented), and I think I want some...me time. I haven't really left my home state of Indiana much and I want to just...go. I own a Chevy Suburban. It's in decent shape but it does need just a few things that I will replace before I leave obviously. I'm putting a new radiator(Slow leak on current one) and serpentine belt but that's all it needs. I'd probably do the brakes if I were to take it cross country.

Anyways, now that I live with my parents, I have no bills really and I make decent money so I thought about putting some money back, prepping my car, upgrading my car, and then hitting the road for X amount of months...

What would you do to my car if you were me? The bad is that since I have a more "luxury" trim, the middle captain seats can't easily be taken out. They are heated and have the electronic movements, etc, but the third row can.
