Hello! I am a college sophomore in a politics data analysis class, and for my final project, I'm focusing on healthcare, and ME/CFS seemed like the perfect connection. I'm specifically connecting how I and other chronic illnesses cause GDP loss in the workforce that practically no one talks about, and rectifying our healthcare system to not only prioritize universal coverage but also provide better incentives for research to treat and prevent chronic illnesses, which is cheaper than the current GDP loss and healthcare cost from managing chronic illness. I have an autoimmune disease (UCTD caused by Kikuchi disease), and one of my friends' moms suffered from long covid, so I understand in some capacity how devastating and isolating chronic illness and especially CFS.
