Red light oil symbol/low oil?

Hey everyone! Please do not roast me for asking this question, I am a girl who knows absolutely nothing about vehicles. At my last oil change, they forgot to give me a mileage sticker for my next oil change so I’ve been going off the vehicle maintenance information on my car.

My car was at 30% oil so I was about to schedule my oil change, however, today when driving the red oil light started to flicker. It didn’t stay on consistently, and ended up turning off. I obviously know not to drive with that on, so luckily by the time it happened I had just arrived to my house.

My car has been making an odd rattling sound lately and was going to have them check it out while changing my oil. I know that driving with low oil is not good at all, I usually keep up with oil changes but thought I could go off my cars reading since I didn’t have the sticker from my previous oil changes. I’m wondering did I just really mess up my car? I’m wondering if the sound I’ve been hearing has been contributed to low oil. I’m super nervous I did something really bad to mess up my car. Again, I know virtually nothing about vehicles so I feel like a complete idiot right now and am panicking :(

Baby monitor

Looking for baby monitor suggestions! I was interested in the Nanit but open to other options. I would like one that I can view from a long distance.

To be induced or try without?

Hey everyone! I have controlled GDM, and am 34 weeks. My doctor was asking my thoughts on induction and truly I have no clue what to do. If I stay controlled and if he stays within a good size like he was at his last growth scan, the longest they will let me go is 40 weeks and 6 day, I believe is what she said. Would you opt for induction or try to go naturally as long as possible? Thoughts ?

Sleep question

Hello everyone! I am due with my first very soon in June and I have a slightly dumb question, so please no rude comments. This is all new to me and I did not grow up babysitting little ones :)

I know it is recommended that babies sleep in the same room as the parent for the first 6 months to prevent SIDS. I have a bassinet that he will obviously sleep in next to my bed throughout the night. My question I have pertains to napping throughout the day.

I am not a person who likes to sit still, I am always on the go doing something. Obviously that will likely change once I have a newborn but regardless I like the stay busy. If I happen to be blessed with a little one who loves to sleep (fingers crossed), how would I go about the napping situation if I am wanting to move around and get stuff done.

Is putting him in his crib just to nap while the baby monitor is obviously on considered safe? Or do I need to have him directly by me? I am borrowing my friends SNOO bassinet which I don’t believe is very portable, would it be a good idea to get a portable bassinet? Since he is a summer baby I’m hoping I’m able to get outside and get some good fresh air. Would a portable bassinet/pack and play be recommended? We have chickens and if I happen to break away to tend to them, I’m wondering how that would work (I won’t bring him out there with me if he needs to be attached to me, yuck!)

Sorry if this is an extremely dumb question, I just want to make sure I’m doing what is safe for him but also hoping I get some slight time to set him down here and there if I need to do anything! Any insight is great. I’m so nervous for this journey.

Hey everyone,
I am 33 weeks and am absolutely miserable while I am at work. I am a dental hygienist, which is already very hard on our back, neck, and wrists but being pregnant adds a whole different level of pain. By the time I’m ending my shift I’m usually limping as the back pain starts to spread into my hips.

I’ve done everything I can to help with the pain (sitting, alternating standing, chiropractic) but nothing seems to work. My doctor gave me a referral for PT but haven’t had time to schedule an appointment as I have gestational diabetes and am already being seen frequently for this. Is this something my doctor would be able to help me with by helping me get reduced hours at all? I’m hoping to stick it out working full time for 3 more weeks at least, but I’m so miserable. It’s all back pain and sometimes it goes into my arms. I feel like I cannot do my job properly because of this :( I’m not sure what the protocol is for work restriction for pregnancy? I

Hey everyone! We have some teenage Heritage Rhode Island Reds. They have been isolated in a dog kennel from our flock since Sunday, so our current flock can still see them but not get to them. Is it too soon to let them out with our current flock or should I wait a bit longer? Do I have to introduce them at night or can I just let them out and monitor them throughout the day? I have the next 4 days off so figured it’s a nice time to do it while I can watch them. They are heritage Rhode Island’s so the teenagers are already very large !

Hey everyone! I am due with my first in June! I am super excited and nervous all at the same time. I have made the decision that formula feeding will be best for me. I have never tried breast feeding/pumping as this is my first but honestly it’s never been anything I have ever had a desire to do. I am not sure if that mindset makes me a terrible person, but that is where I am at right now. My best friend just had a baby a month ago and she’s pumping and looks exhausted. She says it’s so much work, she isn’t sure how much longer she will make it…. Watching her struggle has made me even more nervous to try it. I also think I would struggle mentally with it… I like the fact that with formula feeding I can have more time to put into my little guy and not always worrying about if I am producing enough, etc. Another factor is that my husband can help more with the feedings as well.

My question is, for those of you who immediately chose to formula feeding, did you have any regrets? Do you wish you attempted breastfeeding/pumping?? Just looking for some insight. I feel like I am already getting somewhat judgy comments about my choice, which is also not a great feeling.

Hey everyone! For those of you with controlled GD, did you have to go in for stress tests at the end? I’m finding out Friday if I will end up on insulin or not and my doctor did warn me I would need them if I end up on the insulin, but I forgot to ask if I would still need them if I am controlled and do not need to be on medication for it.

Thanks!

Hey everyone. This morning I took my fasting blood sugar. It was 101 (I had washed my hands). I took it again immediately after (wiped the blood away and re squeezed) and it was 88. I took it a third time and was 86. Am I safe to mark down 88? Not sure why the number was varying so much. I’m very borderline needing insulin so these numbers are critical.
