Problem/Goal: I really wanna try a new look with my hair, specifically soft bronde-ish highlights (brown + blonde vibes) or like an ash brown/blonde brown color. I want something noticeable but still natural-looking and not too shocking because my parents are kinda strict 😭 They’re sort of allowing it but also not fully, if you know what I mean. I also really don’t wanna damage my hair badly.
Context: My hair is completely virgin and VERY healthy/soft to the point where curls don’t even stay in my hair for long. My plan was maybe doing highlights only (not the roots so I can tell my parents it’s less damaging LOL), then toning it into an ashier color with purple shampoo after. I’m thinking of using a highlights cap, then using Bremod bleach with a 6% oxidizer to lighten the strands first, then coloring it with an ash brown shade after. I’m just wondering if 6% is enough for virgin hair or if it’ll barely lift at all 😭 Like will it still give that soft bronde effect or will it turn orange? And if I use ash brown after, will it tone it down enough?
(my natural hair for reference is slightly medium-dark ish brown)
I don’t know if this is the right subreddit for this, but I can’t really post in other hair subreddits because my posts keep getting removed due to low karma, so I’m hoping someone here can help 😭
Previous Attempts: I haven’t dyed my hair before, so this would be my first time doing anything to it 😭
I’m planning to buy new makeup soon, and I’ve been thinking about my undertone because lately my makeup just doesn’t seem to match me well. Sometimes, especially in natural lighting, my foundation looks off and even a bit grayish on my skin, which makes me feel like I’m using the wrong shades or undertone. I’ve tried different products before, but I never really paid attention to whether they were cool, warm, olive (?), or neutral.
I’m not completely sure how to identify my undertone properly, and it’s a bit confusing because sometimes I feel like I might be neutral, but other times certain colors just don’t sit right on my skin. I also notice that some makeup shades that look good on others don’t have the same effect on me. I want to understand this better before I buy anything new so I don’t waste money on products that won’t suit me. I’d really like help figuring out what my undertone could be and how I can choose shades that match me better.
