I think every rider hates having to make posts like this, but unfortunately I won’t be racing at Round 2 of the R&G Moto4 British Cup at Donington Park this weekend.
After my crash at Oulton Park, I suffered a cut to my neck and also took a knock to the head. The medical team at the British Superbike Championship were absolutely amazing throughout and looked after me brilliantly. I was diagnosed with concussion which means, following the regulations, I’m unable to race for 20 days.
The good news is I’ll still be attending the weekend supporting the NW Racing team at Donington Park
Obviously I’m disappointed to miss the weekend however I’ll still be there supporting the rest of the team so please come over and say hello if you see me in the paddock.
I will continue my fitness program with my Personal Trainer at Storme CrossFit Ashby and if anything, it’s made me even more motivated to get back out for the next round at Snetterton Circuit 🏁
Oulton Park - R&G Moto4 British Cup Update
After a strong start to the weekend, qualifying P7 and running competitively inside the top five during Race 1, my race came to an early end following a crash on lap 11 after losing the front on the little dip in the chicane. I’d like to apologise to Luke Fitchett Racing, who unfortunately hit the back of my departing bike in the incident.
During the crash, I sustained a significant laceration to my neck from smashing through the screen of my bike, which means unfortunately I’m unable to take any further part in the weekend on medical grounds. The Medical team at u/officialbsb have been incredible a massive thanks to how they have looked after me, they have been amazing.
Thank you to everyone who reached out and checked in, it’s massively appreciated. There are clear positives to take from the weekend, particularly qualifying P7 and showing strong pace with the front groups while battling for P5. It’s really been encouraging to see my consistent top ten pace at the tests & on my debut in the u/moto4british Championship.
A big thank you to the whole NW Racing team, my chief engineer Simon Powertech UK, and everyone who has supported me on this journey so far.
We take the positives, reset, and come back stronger.
Really enjoyed been upto Wigan at the PDMCC Round 1.
2 Classes entered, 4 races & 4 wins plus a lap record.
