I recently purchased a new Samsung S90F OLED TV from Electronics Mart India.

-Delivered: Tuesday evening
-Installed same day by Samsung technician
-I didn’t check usage hours during installation

Yesterday (Saturday), I checked via Samsung SmartThings app and it shows 424 hours of usage.

It’s obviously not possible for me to rack up that much usage in a few days, so this looks like a used/display unit sold as new.

I contacted Samsung India, and they told me to reach out to the retailer.

Retailer says they only sell new products and that I shouldn’t worry since the TV is working fine and under warranty.

I’ve already emailed their customer support asking for replacement/refund.

Questions:
-Does this qualify as unfair trade practice legally?
- Should I go ahead and file a complaint on consumer forum immediately?

Has anyone faced something similar with electronics retailers?

Any advice would really help. I have screenshots of the usage hours as proof.

Note: I used ChatGPT to help draft this post.

My new Samsung S90F QD-OLED was delivered and installed on Tuesday. I have been using it for a few hours each day since then.

During installation I forgot to check the panel usage time. I checked it today and it is showing 424 hours, which is more than 17 days of usage.

I don’t think this is normal for a brand new TV. Has anyone else experienced this issue? What should I do next?
