I'm fairly experienced with sewing (I think) from just assisting my grandmother in her business but this is my first time making a solo project.

I wanna clarify I SPECIFICALLY mean the coat

I'm mostly struggling on the idea of what fabric I should use to replicate this look. at first i was considering denim to get the really crinkled sharp look but i felt like if i were to tear it at the ends like in the image it would just look incredibly frayed rather then intentional. I also ideally don't want it to be super thick on me like a wool or fleece. In my mind it would feel similar to a duffle coat.

Sorry this is a bit vague but its also a bit new for me overall .

I'm from a place that doesn't really have weather you'd need a coat for so I'm trying to figure out the proper term or word for rudos doll festival outfit , or if it's based on anything in particular.
