Can scalp biopsy confirm hairfall reason dht or not?

Sudden severe hair loss with no family history — can scalp biopsy confirm if it’s truly androgenetic alopecia?

I’m dealing with severe sudden hair loss and miniaturization. The confusing part is that I have no noticeable history of baldness on either my father’s or mother’s side.

I’ve already tried Minoxidil and Finasteride consistently, but the shedding and thinning still continue.

My dermatologist keeps saying it’s DHT-related androgenetic alopecia, but I’m struggling to understand how it became so aggressive so suddenly without family history.

From a dermatology perspective, can a scalp biopsy reliably confirm whether this is truly androgenetic alopecia/DHT-related hair loss or not?

Would really appreciate opinions from dermatologists or anyone who had biopsy-confirmed diagnosis changes.

Anyone here had hair fall, did blood tests, found a deficiency/problem, treated it — and then hair fall stopped completely?

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to hear real personal experiences from people here.

Has anyone experienced significant hair fall/thinning, then did blood tests and found something causing it — like vitamin deficiency, iron/ferritin, thyroid, B12, vitamin D, zinc, hormones, etc. — and after treating that issue, your hair fall stopped completely or improved a lot?

If yes, please share:

What symptoms you had

Which blood test showed the problem

What deficiency/issue it was

What treatment/supplement you took

How long it took to notice improvement

Did the hair grow back normally?

Would really appreciate genuine experiences 🙏

H.B.T. Medical College & Cooper Hospital in Juhu

I am thinking about visiting H.B.T. Medical College & Cooper Hospital in Juhu, Mumbai because private hospitals are too expensive for me.

How is the hospital overall in terms of:

Doctors and treatment quality

Infrastructure and cleanliness

OPD waiting time

Tests and facilities

Would appreciate honest experiences from people who have visited there.

shrinkage feeling. Hard to explain the pain properly. Has anyone experienced this?

Hi everyone,

I’m posting because I’m struggling to explain my symptoms properly to my doctor, and I’m hoping people here who went through something similar can help me describe it better.

For some time now, I’ve had pain/discomfort in my penis along with a shrunken/tight feeling sometimes. The difficult part is that I genuinely cannot explain what kind of pain it is. It’s confusing and hard to put into words.

I don’t want medical diagnosis from Reddit. I just want help from people who may have experienced similar symptoms and can explain:

how the pain felt for them

how they described it to their doctor

what words or sensations matched their experience

Right now all I can say is:

it feels uncomfortable and abnormal

sometimes it feels tight or smaller/shrunken

the sensation is difficult to identify clearly

I keep failing to explain it properly during appointments

If anyone has gone through something similar, please explain in your own words how it felt for you. That may help me communicate better with my doctor.

Thank you.

I joined a security job on 31st March. Honestly, I wanted to continue because the job itself was good. The shift was 12 hours with no leave, but I was still okay with it.

The problem is I have a sand/dust allergy. I didn’t feel it for the last 1 year, so I thought it was cured or gone. But suddenly on 26 April, the allergy started again badly.

I informed my security officer that I wanted to leave. He said I can’t leave suddenly and must complete a 45-day notice period or stay until they find my replacement. He also said my salary would not be released if I leave before that.

I still tried to continue working until they found someone else, but after 3–4 days my symptoms became severe, so I finally left and told him I genuinely can’t continue.

Now I’ve been calling him for the last 2 days regarding my salary, but he is not receiving my calls.

What should I do in this situation?
