Long story short, in addition to my 2 Model M122s with buckling springs, I now own a rubber dome "Quiet Touch" M122. I'm pretty much inclined to say that the feel is not for me. I don't know that it's bad, but I mostly use buckling spring and don't think I'll plan to use this board. I am, however, considering harvesting for parts. Seems the membrane may be compatible with other M122s, but can anyone confirm? I've got a couple of dead keys in one of my other M122s so am thinking if possible to swap the membrane over.
I'm somewhat intrigued by the idea of having this as a quiet board to use at work, but I'm afraid it's actually still pretty noisy too, and I'm not sure if there's a better way to get a good membrane for my other board (repair maybe?). At the same time, I don't love the idea of taking this board apart entirely, since it still has 90% or more of its original rivets in place.
Any thoughts or ideas? Does anyone have interest in boards like this?
