Can old bumps go away as new ones appear without meds?

Basically as the title says, I'm having some scabies-like bumps appear but I've not gone to the doctor yet to be prescribed treatment. As long as I don't pick at them, they will go away after a few days. However, new ones have consistently popped up just about every day. Is this possible with scabies and no meds?

I woke up a couple days ago with 2-3 of these on my legs. Hardly itchy but they looked like mini mosquito bites. However, the itch went away quickly. And I wear pants to bed under my covers so I ruled out mosquitos.

They started pretty distant but in the same vicinity. Not stringed in a path like bed bugs. I also have a zipped up mattress cover to keep out infestations so I figure they're not bed bugs.

The next day I woke up to another 2-3 in similar vicinities and also new areas of my legs. The first four images are of my thighs and calves. I've clearly been picking at them but not because they're all that itchy—I'm just the kind of person that needs to skin pick if there's something there.

There were one or two days after that where I didn't notice any new bumps and the current ones were still not bothering me much. I thought maybe it would be over.

Then this afternoon I took a nap and woke up to another. And as the evening has gone on, two more have shown up on my arms. The last two pics are my forearm and wrist. They're the most recent.

So after less than a week I have about 9-10 total bumps. However, no signs of burrowing at all. They all initially itch a tiny bit when they form which is how I find them, but after an hour that feeling kind of goes away and I'm left with the bump.

Another thing I should add is that I recently took in a stray cat I'd been feeding for a while. I know I should take her to the vet but unfortunately she's very timid and jumpy and has been difficult to get to the vet so I've put it off for the past two months. It's also my first time owning a pet so I lack the confidence to handle her when she's scared. I could see the possibility of her passing scabies onto me—she itches at her ears here and there and they've lost a lot of hair. Other than that I've not noticed any rashes or scabs.

I'd love to know your thoughts and am more than happy to answer questions. Much thanks

Just realized the left side of this shelf ripped from the wall and is only staying up at the moment because it's compressed between the walls. Can I fix this?
