Facebook will not allow me to delete my account and I am frustrated beyond belief.
I should preface this with the fact that I deleted the app and messenger over a year ago, but chose to just let the account sit untouched. However, I decided to download anything important and finally pull the plug this week, except it won't let me. On the desktop, it says my password is incorrect. On the app, again, password incorrect. I hmmm a bit, and decide to reset the password, even though it was the same password I logged in with. After multiple rounds of two step verification using both my phone and my email, it finally changes my password. Huzzah!
Still won't let me delete citing an incorrect password.
So I dig. Try again. And finally, I get a message that they won't let me delete it because they don't recognize my device, as I haven't used it with the app for long enough. No shit, why do you think I'm trying to delete the damn account?!
Now I suppose my question is how long will I have to drag this out with daily logins before they finally let me delete this stupid thing? A week? A month? They didn't specify a time, and part of me wonders if that isn't by design.
I'm so frustrated. Especially since I had zero issue deleting my Instagram and Threads account.
