Designed these 3D printable units for my strategy board game

I’ve been designing these units for a modern war strategy board game, with a strong focus on making them easy to print.

Most models are optimized for FDM printing and require little to no support structures.

The idea was to create a modular system where players can expand the game over time by printing additional units.

Would love to hear what you think about the models!

I’ve been working on this modern war strategy board game — looking for visual feedback

I’ve been working on this modern war strategy board game for the past few years, and I’d really appreciate some feedback on the visual presentation.

From a design perspective — what stands out to you at first glance?

Here’s a preview of how it looks:

Would you play a more accessible modern war board game like this?

I’ve been working on a modern war strategy board game over the past few years as a personal project.

It’s not meant to be a hardcore simulation, but rather a more accessible system that still captures tactical decision-making, positioning, and resource management.

The goal was to create something that’s easier to get into, while still offering meaningful strategic depth.

I’d be really interested to hear from people who enjoy wargames:

Would something like this appeal to you, or do you prefer more simulation-heavy systems?

And what would be most important for you in a game like this?

I’ve been designing 3D printable units for my strategy board game

I’ve been working on a modern war strategy board game over the past few years, and a big part of it is built around 3D printable units and modular components.

The idea was to create a system where players can expand the game over time by printing additional units and game boards (the boards are currently not designed for 3D printing, but it would definitely be possible to create a matching printable version).

I’ve done multiple FDM print tests so far, and they all turned out clean. Most models don’t require support structures, which was an important goal during the design process.

I’d really appreciate some feedback from a 3D printing perspective — especially regarding the overall design and how the models come across visually.

Happy to share more details if anyone’s interested.

Do you think rewarding players for destroying units improves strategy?

I’ve been working on a modern war strategy board game over the past few years, which has become a real passion project for me.

The core systems are already in place, and I’m currently refining some of the mechanics.

One system I’ve been experimenting with is rewarding players with income for destroying enemy units.

The goal is to connect economy and combat more directly.

At the moment, players mainly generate income through buildings and missions, so combat rewards would act as an additional income source.

I’ve already done playtests both with and without this system, and both versions worked well, but they create slightly different dynamics.

I’m curious how you see this from a design perspective — do systems like this improve strategic depth, or can they lead to imbalance?

Also, from a visual perspective, I’d be interested to hear what stands out to you the most.
