Unusably bad recommendations / autoplay algorithm?

Are there any 2026 fixes to this?

This has been an issue for the past year (just as Google flexes their engineers not touching code anymore...) but has been exacerbated in the past few months.

Today I was listening to a popular song (10M+ plays) and immediately after (in autoplay), was an AI slop satire song with 41 plays. Then a bunch of completely unrelated tracks pulled from YouTube and not the proper licensed streaming library. The "Popular/Familiar/Discover" pill buttons do not have any influence on the queue anymore, like they did when they were first rolled out.

I've had to go back to Spotify (ugh) because this has gotten so bad. The whole appeal of YTM was its algorithm and music selection. Why neuter it like this? I've tried clearing my history, app cache, etc. and nothing has helped. I've submitted feedback countless times. Ever since that large YTM team layoff 2 years ago things have just gotten worse

hey chat

I'm blessed to have a few offers but I have really bad decision paralysis.

Salary is a non-factor for me (each offer is fair for the area and at least 120k). I much more prioritize having a good social life (people my age that are doing interesting things. I will basically be resetting my social life wherever I move) and interesting things to do.

  1. San Francisco (Established Fintech, Financial District)
  2. Washington, D.C. (Federal, near the White House)
  3. Los Angeles (Real Estate firm, near West Hollywood)
  4. Fully Remote offer (intern conversion at a legacy tech)

For reference I have grown up throughout the bay area and I absolutely, more than anything, despise the tech bro culture that SF has. It is a soulless void of sociopathic corporate slaves. An inhumane way to live. I also hate the monoculture that the South Bay has. I like more than just other people (who look exactly like me) that just live to work.

Any insight is appreciated. Thanks

Hey chat

This is one of my favorite communities online because everyone is so knowledgeable and I don't know of anything else like it. I just recently graduated college (Computer Science) and I have a few job offers in different cities. I really don't know what to pick. Salary is a non-factor for me since I am willing to take a huge pay cut to live in a much better city.

My Options:

- San Francisco (Office in Financial District)

- Washington D.C. (Office near the White House)

- Los Angeles (Brentwood)

- and one fully remote offer, so I guess I could live anywhere affordable.

I'm 22 and I really value social connections, things to do, I hate being in my house and I want to be outside of my bedroom as much as possible. For reference I'm from Northern California but I've lived in a couple states. My favorite by far was Florida.

I realize I'll probably be starting fresh (none of my college friends seem to be going to any of these cities) and the absolute last thing I want is to have my day be 100% going to work and sleeping.

Thanks, any insight is appreciated.

Is there any discord or sub dedicated to those with tech force offers? I'm still debating on moving forwards with mine and I'd like to speak to others who are in the same position. Not sure if I want to work for the Treasury for two years, but the pay is nice and DC might be fun.
