chinese boyfriend want me to cook for his birthday

Hii, my boyfriends birthday is coming up on Friday. I was trying to book a resturant but he insisted he wants to stay home and have me cook something special for him instead. I wanted to ask for some recomendations of chinese or singaporean dishes I can cook for my boyfriend, I've made him char siu pork before, but it's difficult to get it perfect without slow cooking or a barbeque I think they use. I know he likes hainanese chicken rice so I was thinking that? I'm from the UK so not too familiar with popular chinese dishes but if anyone has any recomendations please let me know!
