DVT Prevention Device - Purchasing Suggestions

After my TKR surgery, I think it would be a good idea to buy a DVT prevention device for my leg. Any thoughts on which brands I should consider? Thanks!

After my experience with rotator cuff surgery, where I started physical therapy right after getting home, I’ve decided to take a different approach this time. The immediate transition was really difficult, so with my upcoming knee replacement, I’d prefer to wait a few days once I’m home before scheduling PT sessions. I want to see how I’m feeling, give myself time to settle in, and avoid having to travel to a therapy center right away.

I still remember how miserable it was trying to shower, get dressed, and get in the car for appointments so soon after surgery. It wasn’t until I had healed more that I realized I probably didn’t need to push that hard that early.
Does anyone think this is a reasonable approach? Has anyone else delayed starting PT for a few days after a knee replacement and found it helpful?

I just realized the surgery center may have specific guidelines for moving forward with TKR surgery. My current A1C is 7.0, and now I’m wondering if that’s high enough for the surgeon to delay or cancel the procedure. Has anyone else run into this situation?

After my TKR surgery, how can I let my doctor know I’d like to try the Quiet Knee Protocol? It seems interesting after reading about it, and maybe it’s a gentler approach to rehabilitation than an intense or harsh therapy.

I was reading through AT&T’s guidelines about what they won’t do when installing a home line. It sounds like they won’t drill through a concrete block foundation or run the line through a crawlspace and up into the living room. They list this under “safety concerns.”
So now I’m wondering: should I run a fiber line myself—from outside, through the crawlspace, and up into the living room? Amazon even sells the same type of fiber line AT&T uses, and a 100‑foot length is only about $25. I might even be able to make it look cleaner than they would.
What do you think—would the installer be okay with that?

I’m tired of paying for my TiVo plans and these cable cards that Xfinity will soon be shutting down. I’m looking to switch to YouTube TV service and have a few questions.

I have 3 TVs plus other devices (iPads and iPhones). Which YouTube TV plan should I get? Do I need the plan with unlimited simultaneous streams/devices?
Also, regarding my internet — Xfinity is my current provider, but AT&T just ran fiber lines in my neighborhood and their prices look pretty good. I’m considering switching to AT&T Fiber 1 Gig service. Would that be sufficient to reliably stream YouTube TV on all my devices at the same time?
Thanks in advance for any advice!

I’ve been reading a lot about when to start physical therapy after Total Knee Replacement (TKR) surgery. I’ll be in the hospital for at least one night and hope to go home the next day. Some people recommend starting PT the day after surgery, while others—including doctors and patients in YouTube videos—suggest focusing on rest, sleep, and simple self-directed exercises for the first week or two before beginning formal outpatient therapy. Would it make sense to do self-led therapy at home for about a week to a week and a half, then start guided physical therapy at a clinic? Any advice or experiences would be appreciated.

We have a new Maytag refrigerator on the way, and I have a question about the water hookup.

I’m assuming the single water line coming from the home’s shut-off valve just connects directly to the refrigerator’s water inlet, and then it splits inside the fridge between the icemaker and the water dispenser. There aren’t two

separate lines coming from the home valve, right?
