Am I correct in thinking this is a Farkleberry?

I'm a cook, baker and forever student with an herbalism curiosity and want to learn all I can about what's outside my door in my new thickly forested SE Mississippi property.

Thanks, I will be posting questions and follow-ups a bunch and appreciate all knowledge and proven home-grown indications for everything.

I moved recently to MS and have enjoyed watching many species new to me. I saw this guy, sure he was a hunting raptor, and wanted to grab a pic to properly identify because I couldn't tell in the light.

I still can't. Wing shape, head size and tail shape all argue one thing but I also can't rectify coloring which is more vulture-like. Flight also was more eagle/hawk than vulture. I see tons of vultures and the head appears set back further.

Possibly an immature Bald Eagle?

Am I way off?

Taken mid-April.
