Loose trigger - normal? Marlin 1895 SBL

I just field stripped my 1895 SBL for the first time to clean the action, etc. and when I reassembled it the trigger is kind of “loose”. Is this normal or did I mess up somewhere during reassembly?

Edit: seems like Marlin trigger slop is the general consensus, thanks to all who assuaged my fears. I will be getting an upgraded trigger because I hate that rattling and looseness.

Magic Bug Remover

I’ve seen a few posts/comments in here mentioning how stuck the bugs get to this front face. I don’t have a before photo (because I’m dumb), but this cleaner works magic.

We drove through an agricultural area and had 10+ bugs per square inch, not exaggerating, and no cleaner worked well. I tried Goo Gone, alcohol, anti-bug pressure wash function at a self serve car wash, and several other tar/bug cleaners - maybe a few came off, nowhere near the majority.

Mother’s was the only one to strip them right off. The majority came off with even the lightest pressure, and after a little elbow grease even the most stubborn bugs came off. Keep in mind we took our shell off in early December, so these bugs were all 5+ months old now.

Just thought I’d share for others encountering this issue. Happy camping!

What do we think about AR LPVOs on a .45-70?

I bought a Marlin 1895 SBL .45-70 in January to hopefully be my lifetime hog and bear brush gun. I’ve only been able to take it to the range so far with irons and want to throw an optic on. 95% of hunting shots will be taken 30-150 yards.

What do we think about an optic and reticle like this for my purposes? Dumb idea? It’s on sale on PSA rn at $179 down from $499.

I’m a young man in my mid twenties, never had much need for a will because I didn’t own much. I’m getting married soon and have accumulated some minor assets (< $300,000). I’d like to finally sit down with a reputable attorney and have them help me draft a will for me (I have no idea what I’m doing). I’m also interested in a general POA and a medical POA.

Does anyone highly recommend any particular attorneys or firms in/around Columbia?

I know this isn’t that bad, but it irked me enough to show my thoughts in the moment. No harm this time, but I see poor driving behavior like this daily and it causes so many accidents. Sorry for the mediocre editing, I only have basic editing skills.

What are your thoughts? Agree with my analysis or am I crazy?
