Troublesome elderly neighbour family.

Troublesome neighbour!

We are currently staying in a rented house while our permanent home is under renovation. Unfortunately, we are facing ongoing issues with a neighbour who is both the property owner and a member of the association.

It appears that they are coordinating with househelp staff to create unnecessary problems for us. We recently changed our househelp, but the situation has continued. There are frequent complaints and objections raised about our use of shared spaces like the gym, parking, and even waste segregation.

Instead of communicating directly with us, they repeatedly escalate matters by contacting the owner, without attempting basic communication through a door knock, security staff, or the residents’ WhatsApp group.

There is also a pattern of being closely monitored our movements, deliveries, and service visits seem to be constantly watched and questioned. It feels intrusive and uncomfortable. Additionally, family members of this neighbour, who are part of the association, appear to be misusing their position to escalate and complicate minor issues.

Overall, the environment feels hostile, and there seems to be a lot of misunderstanding or negativity being spread, possibly even through social channels, which is influencing how others perceive and treat us.

Any solutions on how to tackle this?

Grumpy entitled neighbour!

What’s with that grumpy neighbor who also happens to be part of the association? Where does the entitlement and constant judgment come from? If you have a concern, just ask communication isn’t that hard. But don’t expect special treatment just because you’re older or chose to take on certain responsibilities.

Life would be so much simpler if people actually talked things through.Instead, some prefer to sit in silence and let assumptions and judgments build up. It doesn’t have to be that way. Any solutions for this. We are generally private people. And prefer being that way. But what's with this pressure to go and chit chat where you don't want to.? Had it been abroad we don't even know who is next door. People mind their own business infact they hate people that try to approach them. Why are we so nosy in India?
