A month ago I went to a dentist and happened to develop an absess a couple of days before my appointment next to the tooth that needs to be extracted, but it popped the day before I went. They took XRays and did an exam. This dentist told me to go to an endodontist for a possible root canal and never gave me a prescription for antibiotics. I went to the endodontist today (for dumb reasons it was the soonest I could get there) who took a couple of XRays, looked in my mouth and basically in 30 seconds said yes I clearly see the fracture this needs a simple extraction, it will come out very easily go back to your dentist. Here's my question: if the endodontist could diagnose this so quickly, why couldn't the dentist? Now I'm questioning if she's a good dentist. I'll also need a deep clean and some cavities filled. Oh and I still don't have any antibiotics, I don't know why she keeps overlooking that.
