Removing dishwasher drain hose tubing (confused why my dishwasher is filling with water and leaking)

Hi all, I’ve been having some problems where water is backing up into my dishwasher and I have no idea why.

My only thought is that it potentially could be the drain hose tubing, because I checked the hot water intake line and it seems fine

I’m very confused though because there are currently holes in the drain hose tubing (second pic) that i recently discovered.. which is inside my cabinet.. but no water is present in the cabinet. However, my dishwasher has water in it after manually washing dishes in the sink, and also has water underneath it. I also noticed that water was taking a long time to drain when using my sink.. but really had no idea what’s going on.. because I would think that if water was back flowing through the drain hose tubing it would be present in the cabinet as well due to the holes??

My main concern is the drain hose tubing is attached to my garbage disposal.. am I able to remove this tubing and plug it?

Thank you!!!

2 month Zizi Leaf Prop update

I started these leaves in a moist paper towel in a plastic bag that I’ve been misting occasionally on 02/08/2026.

It looks like one of my leaves if beginning to show roots (1st & second picture).

Sadly, my second leaf seemed to have gotten to moist between Wednesday and today as it appears rotten and I’ve discarded it (third pic).

4th pic is from this past Wednesday.

5th pic is from 03/21/2026.

Final pic is when I started these leaves 02/08/2026.

Any advice on next steps is appreciated!
