I have started using Reddit and other online applications since 2026 and honestly speaking wherever I go the students just blame their universities

NUSTians say it's not number 1

FASTians say it's declining too

GIKI students say it isn't as good as they hoped

And the list goes on

Why is this? At the end everyone is studying by paying the fee and you get in at your choice. You weren't forced. I really can't understand. Like for computing fields especially every university is being trolled by own students.

I'm not talking about LUMS because not everyone goes there and honestly speaking it can never be the best university in Pakistan because it can't get the best students of Pakistan in the first place. So just don't consider that.

I am 18 now so I'm going to buy SIM cards. I will be buying Ufone since my family uses it. I will also buy another one. Asking from NUSTIANS and nearby people, what is the best network around there?

NUSTIANS AND FASTIANS, ALUMNI AND CURRENT STUDENTS, IT IS A QUESTION.

I got good marks in NET and insha'Allah would get into NUST in SE/CS. I would also attempt the NU test and can get in with 65-70 marks/100

Now the point is that I have been reading regarding both universities, and the alunni and current students have very contrasting remarks from both universities.

What I have discovered for NUST is that you get a better ecosystem, better labs, more exposure, easy to maintain CGPA and then you can go on to do Masters too. Moreover what I have seen is that SEECS faculty is more experienced (63% are PhDs as compared to FAST 32%). NUST will give me more time to learn my skills and theoretically they teach better. Moreover campus, hostel and social life is another thing and we mustn't compare both universities in this because NUST is much ahead. Moreover you definitely get a better peer group at NUST because a high percentage of good students join it.

From the FAST point of view, the "RAGRA" is very popular and it too has contrasting views. Some students say that they learn by it, and some are exhausted and worried that they are losing their technical skills. Another point is that FAST has more MS faculty in computing (43% as compared to NUST 19%). Moreover the programming and coding culture is very good. But overall and in a sense the soft skill learning and exposure is less than NUST. The peer group is comparatively weaker because many students had NUST as their primary choice. Moreover what I have seen is that most of the faculty (freshers) are FAST graduates and senior members are gradually leaving because of better industry opportunities (though the same is with NUST too but less in percentage).

Moreover NUST provides some exclusiveness in research too especially with National Science and Technology Park (NSTP). While programming which is better at FAST can be learned anywhere. The job market is almost equal, but it does feel that FAST graduates are more but an important point is that all over Pakistan FAST also produces two or 2.5 times more graduates than NUST does (due to less seats).

If one is a self motivated and self driven person, what should he choose if he has the chance to opt for both.

Moreover rankings yes I know NUST has improved a lot and FAST has declined but I don't believe rankings completely, the rankings are something but not everything.

KINDLY ANSWER AND LET'S MAKE A VERY HEALTHY AND POSITIVE COMPARISON HERE
