Non-Visa and Applying

Hello All,

I’m not sure if this post should be on this sub, or the Thailand sub. Although this isn’t about tourism, I’ve read on the Thailand sub that pretty much every immigration issue should be in the tourism sub.

I spent 60+29 days in Thailand, and subsequently became interested in joining a business venture. The company prepared a package for me, and told me to apply for a business visa online while I’m on my already scheduled vacation/business opportunity viewing interest in Vietnam.

From my reading, I apply online through TDAC, so I’ll do this three days before flying out to Thailand. The company told me to provide the Thai Immigration Officer the business package, and I will be fine, then after 90 days, I can apply for a work permit so I can actually help run the business, collect a salary, and pay my taxes. Now keep in mind, I haven’t paid anything to the company, investing in its growth is contingent upon immigration, and then hiring an attorney to look over the paperwork (I don’t want to be one of those YouTubers getting scammed).

I do plan to open a Thai bank account for the salary that I’ll be earning from the Thai business, and only for that. My VA disability payments will go into my U.S. bank accounts, as I wouldn’t need them to live on, and I don’t want to be taxed for bringing money into Thailand after the three month business visa is over and I’m actually earning a salary.

Is this the way to go about it? Anything else I need to do, or should be aware about?

Now then, prior to leaving the States, I got my original visas put in place, Thailand 60 days, and a multi-entry 3 month Vietnamese visa because it would be cheaper that way, and I didn’t know which way I would want next chapter in my life.

With reading all this Thai immigration hassles on here, varying on the mood of its immigration officers that day, and reading how others have been sent back to their home country, I’m a little concerned. If denied entry for whatever reason, and seeing as I’m flying in from Vietnam, would they force me to fly back to the U.S. or allow me to return to Vietnam? I would prefer the later, and don’t see how they have a choice as long as I get out of their country, but who knows, I have read about others experiences.

I know it’s a long post, but I wanted to get as much in here so to hopefully get geared responses.

Preemptive strike for those who people call everyone a visa bum, no, I’m not doing this to skirt the Thai immigration legal system, I have every intention of filing my U.S. taxes (world wide income, which will offset Thai Taxes through double taxation agreements), file Thai tax forms each year, and file U.S. FACTA forms annually.

Thank you,

Hello All,

I’ve been trying to online check in, but they will not cap my U.S. number with the international formats I found online. Anyone have any experience with this and how to enter it? They simply suggested I check in at the airport.

Thank you,

As the title read, who actively monitors a banking Reddit forum about a bank unless they have issues with the bank?

Well, human nature is let it know when there’s a complaint more than satisfactory service, it’s just who we are.

So for those with a top 1% contributors tag by their name, it kinda makes one wonder why thy spend so much time in here.

Well, if you look at previous comments by those top 1% contributors profile and history (if they haven’t seals it off for privacy), you’ll see that everything promotes SoFi and goes against valid arguments. One can see these people in individual posts, they’ll hardly, probably never badmouth SoFi.

So what’s the conclusion, thy must be SoFi employees, or on their payroll. I mean, what normal person will go outside of their hobby on Reddit to constantly shoot down those who complain, and discourage those who have legitimate issues, again, certainly not a normal person.

I’m only on here to voice and share a legit issue, but what do ya know, out crawls the slugs in a PR campaign.

You’ve been found out SoFi!

Hello All,

So I’m currently at 60% (actually 56%, but with rounding up), with 30% being Migraines. I just had a recent Migraine C&P exam which stated;

Less than a day

Greater than once per month

All symptoms were checked off, except one side of the head (as I experience them on both sides)

Prostrating

“Is unable to work due to frequent headaches. He needs to lie down in a dark environment for 3–4 days per week and is unable to go outside during these episodes.”

And;

“Is unable to work due to frequent headaches . He needs to lie down in a dark environment for 3–4 days per week and is unable to go outside during these episodes. This affects the veteran's ability to function in an occupational environment, including sedentary work.”

I’m not going to give the whole I can’t work story, we all know what we can and cannot due to our individual circumstances/limitations. Reading the guidelines, the rater will hopefully see it for what it is, and my migraine rating will change from 30 to 50, which will push me to the 70% point for TDUI.

Based on this, where the examiner unfortunately (it’s horrible to read about one’s decline) came to the conclusion that I cannot work, do you think that would qualify me for TDUI?

I already have the clam in, but was hoping to gauge opinion on this based on the examiners wording.

Thank you.

Imagine this:

  1. You make a purchase from a vendor, and the purchase was made due to false advertising.

  2. You file a dispute with SoFi regarding the charge.

  3. The vendor sends you email to admit to false advertising and agrees with the dispute filed with SoFi. You then forward correspondence to SoFi.

  4. You provide all relevant documentation to SoFi, and they state they have everything from you and the vendor so typically settle this within 10 business days. Basically, the vendor knew the wee in the wrong, and admitted such.

  5. SoFi refuses to refund you, citing they have 90 days to complete their investigation, which seems off as they have previously admitted to having everything the need to refund you. Investigation, I provided everything in a silver platter.

  6. You perform a follow up with SoFi to get YOUR money back, and thy are dormant on the issue after 45 or so days since the dispute was filed, and YOUR money hasn’t been returned to you.

Now imagine having to deal with this while you’re overseas on well planned vacation, which is on a budget for everything, where you had to pay close to the initial dollar amount on a replacement, which takes away from sounding the locked up dollar amount from other planned activities. Sure they can apologize, but it didn’t make up for lost time, energy, and lack of doing what one had planned. And this is the service from SoFi you should expect. What they call an investigation is purely a prepared quote that means nothing. Any normal person can train that when a vendor admits they will not argue against a chargeback dispute, tha should be the end of it, but not in SoFi’s bogus banking.

Yes, I’m pretty sure you know who I am SoFi, I’ve sent countless emails to you with no avail. I really don’t want to do the whole “call this number” or public apologetic dance with you, we both know it’s garbage verbatim in order to mask how your bank has treated me.

As you know, I have submitted complaints to the Better Business Bureau (yiu tried to slime your way out of that one, but it dint work), the CA AG Office, the CPFB, your regulator “Comptroller of the Currency”, as well with my local congressman. As I stated in the most recent email correspondence to you, I will be moving onto filing complaints with the Senate Finance Committee, and then upwards from there.

You have the correspondence that has been was provided by all parties, and I have your bank in record stating that it should only take 10 business days for my funds to be returned. I look forward to seeing the many responses that are provided to the complaints regarding your financial and emotional distress your bank has caused me while being so far away from home (U.S.)

Now I don’t know if SoFi are the ones that created this sub, but trust me when I state that I will be taking screenshot immediately afterwards for if it is deleted in order to shield your practices from other unsuspecting consumers.
