Petrified wood or fossilized bone?

Google Images says that it's consistent with petrified wood, but it's a bit lighter than my other piece of confirmed petrified wood, which seems heavy for its size. However, I'm in an area of North Texas that's rich with limestone, which could account for the difference. I appreciate any opinions and insight.

Found in North Texas. I see a cool, long grain on the front and back and even on the two long sides, but those could just be sedimentary layers; I simply don't know enough to tell the difference. I see what appear to be small circles (like cutting across a grain) on one end (last pic). Did I find petrified wood?

Is there a way to adjust how far the latch draws into the door when turning the handle, or is my only option to remove the strike plate and plane it down some?
