Because why the hell not, I guess. Also just note that most of these AUs are very OC-centric. My way of showing love for my favorite pieces of media? Making characters.

LOST SOULS

My first AU that started basically at the start of my hyperfixation around the time UT R&Y released. Basically a "what if Undertale Red and Yellow had all of the fallen kids?" That's basically the entire AU, but there's a bit more to it than that.

For one, there have been probably hundreds of resets in this AU, and with each one, Frisk gained more autonomy. Some of the resets were the player doing it, some were Frisks own doing. The ones not done by Frisk, they don't remember.

Also, their soul is gold. I am a firm believer in the "determination soul is gold" theory. Whenever they're under the control of the player, their soul is red. And their eyes are closed. The red represents the player's control.

At the point I usually draw this AU, the player is really just a tiny voice in their head that occasionally barks orders that Frisk finds funny at times.

Also, Chara is British and has freckles. I need to draw these guys sometime soon.

Information about the kids:

1st fallen: Chara. A sarcastic fellow with quite the absurd sense of humor. Can be bossy at times. 12 years old (at least at their time of death). When they died, they were at LV2. I don't have many details down.

2nd and 3rd fallen: Fox (real name Elliot, but they hate it. Uses any pronouns, Fox is genderfluid) and Kai (real name Katherine, Kai is just her nickname. She/Any pronouns). Fox is the Bravery soul and Kai is the Kindness soul. Kai was the one with the more determination and hence got the ability to SAVE, LOAD, and RESET. Fox died at around the entrance to Snowdin, as he always fell victim to their own recklessness over and over. Kai kept on resetting in attempts to keep Fox alive, but she never succeeded. Kai eventually just gave up. Fox died at LV3. After Kai gave up and just tried to progress, they got to Hotland before meeting the same fate as Fox in dying to royal guards. Kai died at LV12. Both were 13 years old. They went to Mt. Ebbot because they were both kicked out of their very religious, traditionalist, and violently homophobic/transphobic household for being queer. They were homeless for a few days, before choosing to climb Mt. Ebbot because they thought it would be fun, before they both accidentally fell down. They are both twins.

Mini tangent, I love the idea of the Kindness soul going on a No-mercy run. So, I went with this idea for Kai. She had the idea that killing the monsters, knowing that most of them would die long before they see the sun, would be mercy and more humane than letting them die hopeless.

4th fallen: River (she/they), the Patience soul. 9 years old, being the youngest of the fallen children. Didn't leave the Ruins. Died because they fell down the puzzle where the Ribbon was found, hit her head, and bled out and died. Some random monster probably found their soul and took it to Asgore or something. Didn't touch the SAVE, LOAD or RESET things because they just didn't know it existed.

5th and 6th fallen: Erin (she/they, River's older sister) and Aubrey (they/them). Erin is 14 and the soul of Integrity, Aubrey is 15 and the soul of Perseverance. Aubrey was the one who held the abilities to SAVE, LOAD and RESET, but Erin held it shortly before she >!got killed by Axis-014!<. Even if she tried to go back to before she was in that situation, she couldn't because you only can RESET to when you first got the ability, or when you regained it. Erin's death couldn't be undone, unfortunately. Aubrey and Erin were schoolmates, being pretty good friends. Aubrey is a complete and utter theater kid, absolutely my favorite in the group. They typically used their notebook to write scripts for plays, act like a director for things, and they are absolutely my favorite OC of this bunch. Aubrey unfortunately fell victim to whoever the lead of the Royal Guard was at the time, and when they learnt that their corpse was GRAVEROBBED for their glasses and their notebook by Gerson, they were absolutely LIVID. Erin died at LV8, Aubrey died at LV5.

Erin was willing to do anything to find River. Unfortunately, River was dead after 4 weeks and Erin dragged Aubrey to look for them after like six months.

7th fallen: Clover, the Justice soul. You know them, you love them. I don't really have any notes, they just act the same way they do in UT R&Y. I love Clover. 12 years old.

8th fallen: Frisk!! I riddled them with headcanons, but I'm not going to go much into them beyond they really like bugs, are autistic (that's me projecting), and really like music and art in general. The music in the background is what they imagine plays, minus all the songs that play when Mettaton is around, the Hotel music, and some others that I don't remember. 13 years old.

Also, here's their birthdays.

Chara: September 15

Fox and Kai: October 3

River: January 30

Erin: November 14

Aubrey: August 22

Clover: July 17

Frisk: April 19

I love them all dearly.

MERTALE

I don't actually remember much about this AU, but it was basically "what if Undertale but the humans are mermaids and the monsters are sea creatures"

Undyne stays the exact same, Alphys is a squid, Sans and Papyrus are jellyfish, the Dreemurs are octopi, etc etc. You get it.

ACHROTALE

Undertale but everyone is achromatic, they turn into black ink, and everyones eyes are leaking said black ink. Even the humans.

Humans can do magic surrounding their ink, but Mon

The only color comes from the Souls.

I made this AU for the lore of two OCs, Kuro (an 8-year-old girl who is blind can only see magic) and Shiro (a 16-year-old boy who is very overprotective of his little sister). Basically, they fell in after the Pacifist Neutral ending, ended up living in the Underground, before something happened (I think it was Error!Sans destroying their timeline) that resulted in them living in the Omega timeline.

UNDERANGEL

Which is probably my favorite of these. Or my second favorite behind Lost Souls.

The idea is that, instead of Frisk falling down, it's a random ass 12-year-old girl named Jane. And she has the Soul of Hope. and also there's a random ass boss monster who basically takes Toriel's role but stays with Jane the whole time named Hex. Because Toriel, for whatever reason, finally decided to leave the Ruins after an extremely long time. Jane never encounters her.

Here's Jane's design.

Jane, the Soul of Hope.

Her weapon is a baseball bat (because she's on her middle school's baseball team) and her armor is her jacket. Her outfit is really just her modified school uniform.

Anyways, I don't remember much from this AU, but I do know some basic plot points.

  • Hex is a boss monster who dies protecting Jane from the Undyne chase in Waterfall with the throwing spears thing.
  • After that, Jane absorbs Hex's soul and they both share a body for the rest of the game. Hex is kind of pissed that they, an old ass boss monster, is stuck in the body of a 12-year-old human, but they get over it fast.
  • Something something Pacifist Neutral ending but Jane absorbs Asgore and the 7 human souls to break the barrier and ends up being 1) erased from her timeline as a result, and 2) becoming an outcode. But hey the monsters from her timeline are free now and they don't know what happened to Asgore nor do they remember Jane
  • Oh yeah this AU was made for me to have an Outcode OC. So about that

After Jane absorbs all of those souls, she ends up becoming an Outcode in her own... pocket dimension thing. Her soul looks the exact same as it did prior, but she looks completely different. Like her being taller, for example.

She ends up calling herself "The Angel of True Hope" or something. She's 12 (mentally now, as her form as The Angel is ageless), she's kind of cringe, leave her be.

The souls she absorbed have taken some effect on her personality, as she's more erratic now. Though, she tries to suppress it all.

She can't hear Hex's voice anymore, or at least consistently. She occasionally hears the voices of all of the Souls she absorbed to take on her form (UNINTENTIONALLY, as a reminder. She didn't know she would become. A fucking ANGEL when she did it) at the back of her head.

She also makes these puppets that look like Frisk from the Omega timeline (forgot the proper name for them, but The Angel used that Frisk for reference) in an attempt to spread hope and also comfort Jane whenever she feels sad because she misses her family and her normal life.

Yeah.

also Jane's birthday is July 12th

I DONT HAVE A PROPER NAME FOR THIS ONE BUT IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH TRUTH AND DECIET

So this was based on Pure Vanilla Cookie and Shadow Milk Cookie.

Yeah.

We have Lune, the Soul of Deceit, and Sage, the Soul of Truth.

Lune is chaotic, Sage is sick of her shit and thinks he can see through every lie (he can't), they're both 14 and childhood friends. That's basically their characters in a nutshell.

Also, there's this 16-year-old girl named Ida who is the soul of Judgement that they meet in Waterfall. this au was designed to be a fangame by a non-game developer. i make characters and write stories i dont make games.

I don't know, I'm tired. It's 10:52 PM on a Monday and I have school tomorrow.

birthdays

Lune: April 4

Sage: July 7

Ida: January 17

also i have two (2) images of this AU on my computer and neither involve Ida

Sage and Lune.

Lune.

God these guys are due for a redesign.

and yeah!! and thats it.

hi hi hi here's my child. my kid. my boy. say hi to him everyone

lore!!:

Daisuke was born into a very traditionalist family, with two older brothers. His family is upper-class, with his parents being a pair of wealthy politicians.

Growing up, he was always expected and told to be “manly,” “strong,” “brave,” “tough,” “stoic,” to one day get married to a beautiful woman, get a good job and start a family, that kind of stuff.

Daisuke was so far from that to the point that it was almost funny.

He was (and is) effeminate, kind, emotional, literally everything his family didn’t believe a man should be.

But good thing: they didn’t force him to act like he WAS actually what they thought a man should be. He was treated like a failure and a mistake, but they didn’t force anything on him.

Eventually, he began learning magic tricks from his grandpa and performing them on streets and such when he was about 12. His parents didn’t approve but set an expectation that he could make a profit from it. And eventually, he did, as he won a cash prize from an international youth's magic show competition thing when he was 15. For that, he earned his title as Ultimate Magician.

(Also, he is gay and has internalized homophobia because of his parents being overly traditional. They never said anything homophobic, per se, just set an expectation that one day he would marry a beautiful woman. Not intentional at all for him to end up that way on his parent's end, but their traditionalist mindset ended up with that effect. He believes love is love and that people should love who they want, but when it comes to him, he is the only exception.)

His surname (Amaterasu) comes from a Shinto goddess of the name Amaterasu Omikami. I'm not entirely sure if it's entirely respectful to have it as his surname, but it's supposed to represent his family's high status.

--

anyways uh. based on that what are your predictions for him or something??? idk i rushed this post together in less than ten minutes

most people who have commented on where they think he lands is that he'll be a culprit.

also, my tumblr moot loves him.

(I would like to note that this DOES spoil my fanganronpa, DR Liars Game. Her lore hasn't came up yet, but I plan for it to be revealed in Chapter 2 via the first motive.)

Ok, so this is March Ackerly. One of my favorite OCs in my fangan.

When Akito (the protagonist) meets March, she claims to be the Ultimate Polyglot. All things considered, this is true, and she can definitely speak MANY languages.

Though, she lied about her talent and is actually the Ultimate Bioweapon. For a few reasons. One, I just really like that trope of lying about one's Ultimate. Two, she fears that if she is honest about being a Bioweapon, people won't treat her like how she wishes to be treated as. She wants to be treated as a human.

Now onto her backstory. Which I had a lot of fun writing. Just note that this is extremely historically inaccurate, but I tried to make it as accurate as I possibly could from what I researched.

She is a bioweapon created in 1512 by a mad scientist named Dr. Elia Venetian for the purpose of 1) finding immortality, and 2) creating the perfect soldier. She was titled "Project March" (or Projectum Martius, since Latin was widely used in 1500's Italy and was March's first language), after the month she was created. She was created on March 7th. HOW she was created is a mystery to even me. I don't know much about biotech from the early 1500s, as far as I know they didn't even know germs existed back then.

Eventually, before March was sold to the military of Italy for the sake of participating in the war that was happening at the time and any wars that would happen afterward, she burnt the laboratory down with Elia in it and ran away in January 1525.

Her freedom lasted until April 1525, when she was captured by the Novak Foundation. She was the subject of cruel experiments and being put to fight in local wars. She didn't lose a single fight (mostly because she literally couldn't die unless the damage is absolute, which we will get to later), until 1638 when she somehow got impaled through the skull and the Foundation assumed March was dead. And they didn't retrieve her body.

She finally got her freedom because the Novak Foundation was run by idiots. I'm being deadass.

That being said, they did (somehow) find out that she was still alive, but they couldn't find her and get her back before they dissolved in 1654.

And after March got her freedom, she ended up adapting into a cycle. Every 10 or 15 years (because she can't pass for anyone above the age of like 35, and with her white hair it would be even harder), she would change her identity and move somewhere else, often hopping countries. If anyone caught on to how she wasn't aging, she would have packed her bags and left shortly after she was confronted.

This cycle repeated over and over. She didn't get bored, somehow, and eventually it was 2025. Because my Fangan takes place in 2025. By then, Project March was known just as a conspiracy theory someone on an online forum made up when they were high. And is mostly known via Instagram slop content. She wanted to see if the education system has improved at all since it was introduced, so she made up the name March Ackerly, decided to pose as a transfer student in Japan, and she attended high school there as a very skilled polyglot.

And eventually Hope's Peak caught wind of her. And they manage to recruit her instead of doing the smart thing of handing the living weapon to the government or something. March only agreed to attend Hope's Peak if she was recognized as the Ultimate Polyglot instead of the Ultimate Bioweapon, and they managed to land on the agreement of her being the Ultimate Polyglot in public and her technically having a second Ultimate in the form of being the Ultimate Bioweapon. So technically, she was lying about her talent. Technically.

Now for some other things about her that are pretty important.

Why she looks so young: Regenerative abilities to keep her from dying or rotting into dust. Physically, she's about 24 years old, hence her younger appearance.

Her abilities: Okay, for one, she's extremely strong by design. She definitely can't overpower, say, Sakura, but she's the strongest of her cast. She also can heal almost any injury. If the damage is absolute (say, she is burnt alive, or dissolved in acid, or crushed by a hydraulic press) she is dead and done for because YOU CAN'T MAKE SOMETHING OUT OF NOTHING, physically speaking. Because of this, she is far from the ideal murder target. Also, previously stated regenerative abilities.

Did the mastermind know?: Not when they first started the killing game, but they found out pretty quickly via digging through some documents. They thought it was too late to boot her out, so they settled for a 'secrets' motive where they threatened to reveal the secrets in X amount of time... but quickly fucked up as in they gave everyone the wrong secrets and the motive was called off for the time being while they prepared another.

How this is revealed: The protagonist gets March's blackmail, stating "March is a living weapon". The protag confronts her and bada bing bada boom talent reveal. This is early on in Chapter Two. It is eventually revealed to the rest of the cast and they act how you would probably expect.

Her inspo: I was VERY Resident Evil pilled when I first made her. She also was initially my take on Sora from SDRA2? She used to be the Ultimate ??? and not remember who she was. The protag gave her the name Kanon. She's changed a lot since then. I feel like a proud parent.

I had a lot of fun making her, I love March dearly.

Any thoughts?

Wolfgang in the rejected mastermind motivation doc is a very realistic depiction of depression.

Edit: Also, the fact that so many people are clowning on him because of how he is portrayed in the doc says so much. I'm not trying to be rude, just saying.

Something I have always hated about Danganronpa, especially in V3, is that there is always TWO murders with ONE culprit. Technically >!Hifumi was Taka's killer!<, but >!Celeste still got executed for killing Hifumi.!<

I say especially V3 because, for as much as I love that game and will continue to defend it, the fact that >!Kiyo killed BOTH Angie and Tenko!< is just bad. Plain and simple. They even introduced a rule stating that only the first murder to be discovered counts, only for it to go in the trash... why couldn't have >!Tenko killed Angie or Himiko be tricked into killing Tenko but allowed to live?!<

Anyways, this is my pitch for a 3rd chapter. In its simplest form, it's Person A gets killed by Person B, but then Person C walks in and kills Person B and gets away with it because Person B is considered the culprit, and Person C has to continue participating in the killing game with the knowledge and GUILT that they killed someone. So, >!if Celeste wasn't executed in Chapter 3 because Hifumi killed Taka. That's basically this case.!<

The rule I have in mind is "only the first person to die counts, the hypothetical other deaths are just dead weight." Obvious setup for the murder. Also, the rule isn't the same as the one in V3 because the bodies are found at the same time, and the Person A of the case died about 10 minutes prior to Person B.

Now here's how I can imagine some bits of the trial going.

  • Someone suggests it was a murder-suicide, and they run on that idea for a few minutes before the differences between the times of death and the signs of struggle on Person B that weren't present on Person A
  • The idea that a third party (Person C) is involved gets brought up and the protagonist manages to somehow deduce that it was Person C because they received a note from them asking them to go to the crime scene (that was given before the murder occurred, and Person C's involvement was unplanned)
  • Even though the theory is very wonky and barely stands on any legs, they all manage to come to the conclusion that Person C planned to kill the protagonist at the place that was coincidentally where Person A was killed by Person B, and the morning when Person C decided to do it he stumbled upon the murder, Person C and B got into an altercation, and eventually Person C managed to kill Person B
  • Person C, however, isn't executed because of the rules and is haunted by guilt and the knowledge that they have blood on their hands.

Definitely needs a lot more polish and a LOT more in between, but that's the 4 bullet-point summary of a trial I have NOT written yet.

Initially, I was going to have Person C be executed, but your honor... character development. Guilt. And also, I didn't like the execution I had for them. So, they get to live.

If I have already posted something here asking this question, then I do not remember it. But I'm going to ask this.

Ok, so. The motive is what I like to call the "Bomber Motive". Basically, one student is being forced to plant small bombs at parts of the ship, and three go off per day. If the bomber is a victim of murder, the culprit gets out of the killing game. If the bomber kills someone, intentionally or not, it doesn’t count. This is inspired by The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin (which is kind of similar to Danganronpa now that I think about it, lol. >!Sixteen people put up against each other, connected by a single fact, for a prize only one can obtain, if my memory serves me right).!<

Ultimately, the culprit of this case kills who they think is the bomber and is wrong, and the class trial proceeds as per usual.

Any thoughts?

(I guess this counts as promotion? I'm not actually quite sure, but it fits the best.)

These are only three of the 16 because dear god that would take way too long to write.

If they ever get turned into a proper fangan (probably just a written one on AO3 with minimal actual visuals, I'm not a game dev), it'll be called "Danganronpa Echo Chamber".

NOTE: None of this information is final. Also, if I have nothing to say for their backstory, it won't be listed.

CHARACTERS

01 - Kanon Fujita, Ultimate Polyglot.
Protagonist (temporarily, and we will go over that later.)
Female, 5'3", 109lbs.
Born November 12th
Likes: Cool weather, Autumn
Dislikes: Snow, Boats
Personality: She's sort of a Toko expy, since Toko is one of my favorite characters. With the mouth of a sailor and the stutter of... whatever comparison I could have made there, Kanon is a deeply insecure individual who projects onto others for their insults.
She wasn't intended to be a protagonist at first, but I decided to do so. That being said, I do have... specific plans for her.
Backstory (TW for grooming, marked as spoiler for people who don't want to hear about that. Inspired by one of Parako's OC's lore): >!Kanon was the affair child between two high ranking politicians. Her birth could have completely ruined their careers, so they just decided to hide her away in a house nobody knew about. One of the parents had to be around to make sure she didn't die, so they made a decision when Kanon was six. They decided to hire a private tutor, a 29-year-old woman named Yaeko Yoshida, or just Ms. Yoshida, as Kanon's full-time nanny. Beyond that, Kanon's parents only visited her briefly, once per year, for Kanon's birthday. Ms. Yoshida then groomed Kanon. She didn't have to isolate her, so she just did it. She gave Kanon ten, twelve, fourteen-hour lessons in languages, since Kanon picked up languages with such ease. And Kanon learnt them. Even when Ms. Yoshida isn't present, Kanon is terrified of her, yet loves her and craves her affection. She was the only consistent presence throughout her life. It's kind of my take on Korekiyo's backstory? I really like his character, he's very interesting.!<

02 - Masaru Akiyama, the Ultimate Detective
Support character (temporarily, and AGAIN, we will go over that later.)
Male, 5'9", 159lbs.
Born February 26th
Likes: Black coffee, Clocks
Dislikes: Noisy people, Fog
Personality: On the surface, he is apathetic, cold, logical, and direct. However, this is a result of him having alexithymia. His (internal) motto is "if I don't understand it, I won't show it". He does show emotions such as distress when, for example, someone dies. I would like to note that Masaru (as is of many of my OCs as a result of me projecting) is (an undiagnosed) autistic. This does not excuse his actions (PUT A PIN IN THAT, I WILL SPEAK MORE ABOUT THIS LATER), this is merely the reason he acts this way. He's also kind of brotherly?
Backstory: Something something Masaru's grandfather was a detective and decided to have him help out with his detective things as a young child because he was very intelligent even from a young age... I don't really have much down. Yeah. Very bare bones, and still in development.

03 - Uta Hozumi, the Ultimate Guitarist
Narratively opposite antag (TEMPORARILY, FOR THE THIRD TIME)
Female, 5'1", 119lbs.
Born August 1st
Likes: Takoyaki, Music festivals
Dislikes: Snakes, The cold
Personality: Energetic, blindly optimistic, very kind, generally just Masaru's polar opposite. I don't really know how to describe her. She's just... a joyful person with a lot of whimsy. I love her a lot!
Backstory: I'm not sure about her backstory so far. I just know that she grew up in a small town, and that she has two little siblings. She also uploaded guitar covers of songs she liked online.

MY PLANS

First things first, I would like to mention V3 for a moment.

V3's first twist, that Kaede is the culprit and an unreliable narrator, is something that I love ^((and will continue to glaze)). The role of the protagonist being given to Shuichi, who is Kaede's effective opposite, is something that I adore.

I mention this twist because it is what inspired me to write the first case of Echo Chamber in the first place.

Now, something I didn't want to do was completely rip off V3-1. I absolutely don't want to do that at all.

However, I just changed up the role in the case Kanon takes.

Kanon is Chapter 1's victim. The role of protagonist is then handed over to Uta, and then Masaru is the narratively opposite antagonist.

Now, let me summarize how I imagine this would go.

  • Kanon and Masaru are talking in the library of wherever the KG takes place. It is, for SOME REASON, three stories tall and absolutely massive. I took some inspo from SDRA2 for this.
  • Kanon just vents her fears of dying in the killing game to Masaru, who responds with an attempt to comfort her, though it isn't very good (because, well, its Masaru).
  • Masaru then leaves, and Kanon watches him exit the library.
  • I would like to establish that the library had a secret passageway that was accessible to everyone, and it just so happened to be close to where Kanon was standing.
  • The culprit (a character not established, who is Asahi Teruoka, the Ultimate Butler) entered the library through the passageway and saw Kanon looking down at the library. This was after Masaru was gone.
  • Asahi, though not planning to have committed a murder when heading to the library, saw the opportunity and shoved Kanon off. He then ran back as fast as his (very short, he's 4'7") legs could take him.
  • This would not be shown to the reader, as after Masaru leaves the library, the POV cuts to Uta. She is walking and talking with another character (Venus (real name Daichi) Kainuma, the Ultimate "Combat Engineer" (actual title is Weaponsmith, Venus just likes the sound of Combat Engineer more) and they stumble upon Masaru leaving the library.
  • They stop him, talk to him, and then they hear the sound of Kanon's body hitting the floor with a loud THUD.
  • They rush back in and find Kanon's corpse, the BDA goes off, and Asahi reunites with the rest of the cast acting like he wasn't the culprit.

I'm not sure what would cause Asahi to be caught for this case, but it would probably have something to do with the process of elimination or something. Ideas are very welcome! I would appreciate it.
