Hello, so I had recently applied for a passport. Little background, I am currently living at address ‘A’ but on my Aadhar Card, the address mentioned is my permanent address, let’s say ‘B’. So while applying for the passport, i gave my present address ‘A’ and attached Bank passbook as an address proof which was accepted by the RPO. Then came police verification, the police man straightaway said that he will only consider the address on my aadhar which does not come under that Police station. After I tried to convince him that I have given bank passbook as my address, he said that he will pass the verification.

Later, after a week I received an “adverse police verification” mail from Passport Office, and that the police has rejected my verification so I went to the RPO. The Public Relation Officer told me that they only consider the present address in passport and the police station has to verify the same address, and have reinitiated the verification request.

Now, I really need some advice on whether the police was right in rejecting it or he rejected it because I did not give him any money. And is there anything that I can against him or if I can correct it somehow?

now that I’m on a break from the corporate world, I’m thinking of heading out on a trek(Bhrigu Lake) for now,starting on the 8th, 9th, or 10th for around 4 days.
If anyone’s interested in joining, lmk. I’ve traveled with random Reddit people before and it has always turned out to be a lot more fun than expected, so doing it again.
PS: Will be travelling from Gurgaon.
