The game is really missing a 2 block wide bridge

All bridges being either 1 or 3 blocks wide feels like such a missed opportunity. Ships that are an even number side always have to deal with offset bridges or hiding the bridge.

How heavily did the US mobilize its population during WW2 compared to the other powers?

As far as I understand it, nations like Nazi Germany, Japan and the Soviet Union were heavily mobilized, everything in the country was geared towards war. Was the same true for the US? I remember hearing a quote about the US not mobilizing a large percentage of the population for the war effort and theoretically being able to go much further than they did. Is that true?

What are must-have habs for your ship builds?

I try to put a cargo bay into every build. Obviously the hab doesn't do anything, but I love the aesthetic and it just feels realistic to have on bigger ships. Either Hope Tech or Nova Cargo Bay.

The other one would be the Nova 2x2 All-In-One. The NASA punk look makes it feel actually lived in compared to some of the other 2x2s.

Dani is the most believable protagonist of the series

I know lots of people dislike Far Cry 6, but what it did more than any other main game in the series is give us a believable protagonist.

Jason and Ajay are civilians who---on account of being american---may have had limited interactions with guns but that's it. The deputy would have basic firearms training from being a cop but nothing beyond that. We don't know the Merc's backstory from FC2, but his experience probably comes closest to Dani.

She went to the Yaran Military Academy and got some special forces training. Beyond that she's also fighting for her home and knows a lot of the people she interacts with. Compare this to literally every other protagonist who are strangers to the place they are supposed to save.

Obviously different plots work for different games. I enjoyed Jason's descent into madness and at least what I perceived as a reluctant call to adventure for Ajay. But Dani feels both more realistic and more satisfying in her story.

There's a bunch of features I wish were in the game for shipbuilding, but this is the most glaring one. Why can't I start a new ship from scratch? Currently what I have to do is buy a cheap ship and then scrap every part. It's just extra hassle.

I know capturing pirate ships also works, but you can't rename those.

Both the cosmonauts and the astronaut Dani goes up with. Obviously the writers couldn't plan everything, but it feels like a missed opportunity to not have those characters reappear in S3. Kuz or a different Mars 94 cosmonaut could have been the commander of the Soyuz for example, setting up a preexisting relationship for S3. Or the Astronaut could have been in Sojourner.

Apollo-Soyuz is my highlight of S3, I love the conversation they have in the Outpost and then their final decision to dock, orders be damned. Obviously I know that the cosmonauts would never get to fly again after disobeying orders, but that logic could be stretched a bit for the narrative.

Inspired by the Space Shuttle!

Habs are all Nova. Computer Core behind the Cockpit, then 2x2 Hab and 2x1 hab

Obviously this is subjective, but to me having just one modded tag for absolutely everything doesn't accurate describe the builds. Sometimes modded means using ASC Deimos and Ship Builder Configurator to get 5m more length but the general shape of the ship could easily be done with vanilla parts, and other times modded means 57 parts mods and every bit of the ship is actually made of 100 merged parts.

I'm being purposeful hyperbolic, but to me there is a pretty significant difference in the modded tag. What I'm advocating for is something like maybe "vanilla+" or "modded but possible in vanilla".

All builds are valid, I love some the crazy things people have been able to do with the game, but when looking for build inspo it can get tiring to weed out the stuff that is totally away from vanilla.

Could be an acting choice, a line delivery, just the little things that can have such a massive impact.

Mine will forever be in S3E10 during the discu6of how to launch the MSAM when Dani says "there is one more thing left to pull" and then looks at Kuz. It's a brief exchange of glances, just enough to probably confirm for herself that she isn't offering a totally crazy solution. That whole scene is brilliant, it shows Dani's leadership skills but then she checks in with the other captain. It's simply brilliant.

Other one would be Molly in S2E1 in the lava tube, the way Sonya Walger shows Molly's decision to rescue Wubbo is so brutally effective, her expression change when she decides to go. Amazing stuff.

S2E1 would be my clear pick. It intros all the familiar characters so well, there's immediately high energy tension with the solar flare and they weave in the cold war aspect which will become central to the whole season. Frankly it's up there as one of the best episodes out of the whole series.

Season 3 is my favourite season overall(which I know is not a popular opinion) but S3E1 is not that strong. It's a nice self contained story and some good character drama but doesn't add much to the Mars plot or lead into it very well.

S1E1 sets the story up well but doesn't do much beyond that.

S4E1 didn't grab me very much but that's probably down to the weaknesses of Season 4 in general. Miles wasn't interesting enough in that season to really intrigue me.

S5E1 I really liked though. They did a good job introducing the new characters, which is helped by the actors being really strong. Then I was also positively surprised by some of the reccuring characters including Miles.
