Far Cry New Dawn Review

Far Cry New Dawn is a very saturated post-apocalyptic spin-off of Far Cry 5. I very much enjoy the story with it taking place years after the story of Far Cry 5, yet shorter in story elements, it still holds a solid foundation within the franchise, I enjoyed it so much that I had to reach for 100% completion and recieve my 2nd Playstation Platnum Trophy. It did lack some features from previous installments in the franchise but still solid in decent subject matter. Its the "Pink" Far Cry. Some say its lacks proper emotion but I beg to differ. The characters may seem a bit weaker in personality but the concept is the emotion that is displayed but the final 2 boss battles are slightly lackluster, but overall the entire concept surrounds hope in a collapsed society. Completed within a total of 8 days and in 25 hours and I did enjoy the one mission that you "Fight the Beast." Here are some pictures I took in game and one by a tree that I thought fits the whole game as its basically the Pink Far Cry and a note I found in the game with initials SF which I was surprised as my own initials are the exact same. 4/5 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Far Cry 3 Is So Immersive In 2026

I played my first FC game last year (Far Cry 4) on Series X and loved it! I especially loved the DLC to finish the game.
I hadn't planned on playing FC3 because it was like 720p30 on consoles and FC4 at 1080p60 was the minimum res I'd play any game (60fps is my target fps).
But then a few months back, Ubisoft put out an update to get FC3 to 1440p60 so it's actually higher res than FC4!

Anyway, I bought it for $9 (didn't include the Blood Dragon but I will buy that when I'm done the main game).

I'm about 35 hours into the game, and still have barely done the main story (just ran into Willis Huntley and now being prompted to go light up some fields) and only have about 1/2 the map opened up with the towers. I'm playing on Master difficulty and it's still not that hard, but nice enough. I tend to open the towers outposts and then clear the map in the area that is directly related to the part of the story line I'm in before proceeding to the next part of the map/story. The game says I'm 49% finished so I will probably be in the 60+ hours before I finish.

But my favourite part of this game is just exploring! And I don't use Fast Travel most of the time: if I want to get somewhere, I find a vehicle, boat or walk. There is something about this map I prefer over FC4, maybe it's the fact that the island is surrounded by water (obviously) and you can get on a boat and go out and drive around.

I'm shocked that this game is only 16GB too. There is so much detail and so many hidden places to find.

My only minor quibbles are the super narrow FOV with no slider (which I somewhat get used to after a week but wish they'd added a slider in the recent updates) and almost wish MAYBE it was a bit harder. I'm playing on Master and haven't any troubles... but I do play a stealth game as I love stealth... so enemies are usually dead before they know I'm around. LOL. I've pretty much maxed out my wallet, ammo pouches etc and I don't need to loot anybody because my wallet is always full. I wish the game was a bit more stingy with $ and loot.

But yeah, LOVE this game! I still have FC5 and 6 (Oh I guess Primal), but I was wondering if there are other games out there like Far Cry?

Oh and one final question: "WHO'S THE MAN?!"

Fan take: I was a fan of weapon jamming in FC2

The best way to get around this is to buy a good quality weapon, which you switch to in case your bad quality weapon starts having problems.

Was anybody else disappointed with how little screen time Anton got or did they do his character right?

He was a great antagonist to the story and very well written character. The problem was he appeared in maybe 5-6 cutscenes when the game centers around him. They could’ve introduced more of his character, a deeper backstory especially with the hype surrounding Giancarlo.

I beat Far Cry: Primal for the first time tonight. As my journey ends, I must ask: am I the only one who initially thought Takkar was portrayed by Jason Momoa?

Tom Henderson on Black Flag remake: reveal set for April 23rd, Embargo lifts 12:15 PM ET, media are impressed with the game, current-gen only and exclusive game details

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x3SAQm-9rN8

Tom stated that Ubisoft only talked about current-gen during their presentation and thinks the game will stay current-gen only from what he read about its visuals, media/reviewers were generally impressed with the 30-minute presentation that they were shown, he thinks a trailer will come out around 12 PM in April 23rd since the embargo lifts 15 minutes after

GAME DETAILS (Spoilers):
- Complete remake, not a remaster
- You can now have a pet on your ship, which could either be a cat or a monkey
- Underwater exploration is improved in the game
- Tons of new content/story (not in the OG) which include new officers, crewmates, quests, chapters (as Maroon, Kenway's background etc.)
- The game is on the upgraded/latest engine that modern AC games use
- Will not be subsidized, most likely full-priced

Is FC: New Dawn gets better?

I finished FC5 twice because its so fn good. Now im on PS5 and purchased the FC5/New Dawn bundle to play FC5 again, lol. But got really, i mean, REALLY curious about New Dawn because its a continuation of FC5.

'Dunno, probably skipped New Dawn because for me personally, the ending of FC5 was perfect. It didnt need a continuation. Im probably very early in New Dawn but its nothing compared to FC5. I love how the map looks but everything else feels so weak. Im not sure about this "weapon tier system". A super early side mission at the very beginning of the game, very close to the outpost had a purple bosslike enemy, like, wtf?

Hopefully there will be a lot of Joseph content in the game.

Paul

Random question but is it weird that i feel sorry for paul after we catch him and bring him to the golden path. I know hes a horrible person being the turtorer of Pegan Min and how he likes to kill the people of kayrat but he loves his family and he gets so desprete to see and talk to his family. And for some reason it hurts me everytime i take him to the golden path to be torcured and killed.

What was the most disturbing moment in the game that made you go: maybe I should stop

For me it was the definition and how tarun matara is made.

How to trigger pagans wrath?

I need to destroy a pagans wrath to get the heavy beatdown skill, I can’t see any on my map, does anybody know how they are triggered or are they just completely random?

Just a crazy idea...

...but the more I work on the world, the more I get those Rook Islands nostalgia vibes... 🫠

It was meant for another type of experience, but I'm seriously thinking about giving it a shot. Just to see if it can be done. 🙂
