Fast Boot vs Thorough

My laptop gives me a choice between Quick Boot or Thorough Boot. Thr difference apparently is that Thorough initialized more stuff (exactly what stuff I'm not sure yet). Mine is been on Quick, and Thorough SOUNDS better, but I wanted to make sure it didn't cause a problem.

Also, I wanted to ask if any of you have used PortMaster, and if so, what you thought of it.

Pixel Niw or Motorola Later?

I have a feeling I'm not the only one with this dilema. I'm mot necessarily concerned about having the shiniest new thing mind you, but (and feel free to correct me if I'm misunderstanding) isn't a big part of the reason Graohene broke ties with Google because they were going to release security updates onky half as often? If that's true, couldn't Pixel users be less secure?

That's really my only question. Otherwise $500 for a 9Pro CL vs $1000+ for thr new Motorola is an easy choice unless the Motorola has some REALLY enticing features.

Any Linux Hardening Tips?

I just made the transition from Windows over to Zorin OS. Any tips for how I can harden the browser further while still keeping it usable?

Just Imagine Graphene on a Desktop!

I was just thinking that, considering just how far ahead Graphene OS is of everyone else in terms of privacy and security, imagine if they could come out with a desktop OS built with the same mindset!

Leaving Windows Today

Getting ready to transition to Zorin in just a bit (hopefully).

I say "hopefully," because other than watching some tutorials, I have ZERO experience, but I just had a malaria attack destroy my motherboard, so I need an environment that's more secure (I'm aware Linux won't make me invulnerable, but it's a hell of a lot better base).

I'd appreciate any and all tips (especially as it relates to hardening) as well as patience, because I'll have a TON of questions as I go.

Now, that I think of it, I do have one to start: Is it possible to download one cohesive piece of software, or is downloading the iso and combining with Rufus just how it is?

I have evidently list my desktop to a malware attacks that has jacked the firmware uo beyond repair. I'm told that it's a lot less likely the router i was using at the time was infected, but I'd like to be able to verify that because if it's not, I'll ise it as an access point.

I picked it up the other day as part of an effort to increase security of my network. If there's anyone else out there using this router, I'd love to pick your brain

I really like what I see in the writers on Portmaster, but friends are telling me it's challenging to get it to woek with Mullvad VPN. I like MULLVAD because I don't have to give a shred if personal info.

Has anyone out there found a way for thr two to effectively coexist?
