executive search without retainer is contingency recruiting just low priority by default

Hey everyone

I am a company owner currently trying to understand if our experience with recruiters is normal or if we are approaching it wrong. We have been using a mix of contingency non retained recruiters for a few senior hires and the pattern is pretty consistent. Strong initial activity then momentum drops, candidate quality becomes inconsistent, passive talent is limited, and it feels more reactive than structured.

Trying to understand if this is just how contingency recruiting works or if retained or exclusive search actually changes the depth of the candidate pipeline for senior roles. We are also looking at more specialized executive search firms that focus more on deeper market mapping and passive talent, and curious if that actually leads to better outcomes in practice or is it mostly just different positioning.

Would appreciate insights from anyone who has worked with both contingency and retained search models for senior or technical hiring.

Law firm owners. What’s actually working for your marketing right now?

Curious to hear from people actually running firms. There's so much advice out there on law firm marketing but most of it feels generic or outdated.

For those doing this day to day, what's actually bringing in clients consistently? Is it Google, referrals, paid ads, or something else entirely? And what have you tried that just didn't work at all?

It feels like a lot of firms either overcomplicate things or just lean on referrals and hope for the best. Would really help to hear what's working in the real world.

TrimRx reviews had me worried, but my experience turned out to be good

I still decided to give TrimRx a shot after comparing a few options and doing a lot of research. The process seemed more straightforward and organized than some of the other providers I looked into.

So far, my experience has been pretty smooth. Signup was simple, communication was good, pricing matched what I expected, and my order arrived without any issues.

Overall, it’s been a much better experience than I expected going in.

I've come across several firms offering high net worth tax services, and the pricing definitely seems higher than standard tax help.

I’m curious if there’s a real difference in what they provide or if it’s mostly branding and positioning. For anyone who has used them, did you see better results, stronger planning, or added value that justified the cost?

▲ 8 r/tax

I always relied on a CPA for tax filing, but lately I keep hearing about working with a tax planning advisor.

I’m not sure if there’s a real difference or if it’s mostly the same service with a different title. For anyone who has used one, did it actually help with strategy, savings, or long term planning?

My furnace has been acting up lately. Cycling on and off inconsistently and struggling to hold temperature. Nothing catastrophic yet, but with Albany winters being what they are, I'd rather be proactive than end up with a midnight emergency.

After researching furnace repair in Albany NY, Grasshopper kept rising to the top. Local companies seemed responsive, and their pricing was competitive compared to other quotes I was looking at. All signs were pointing toward booking them.

While I was looking around I did come across one older review that caught my attention, looked like it was a couple years old at least. Hard to know the full context behind it, and honestly one review from that long ago probably doesn't reflect where they're at now.

With two kids at home, I just want to feel confident going in, which is why I'd love to hear from anyone who's worked with them recently. If you've had Grasshopper out for furnace work in the past year or so, I'd really appreciate hearing how it went! Hoping to find some reassurance from folks who've had a great experience with them lately.

I've been looking into GLP-1 / GIP options for a while now, mostly just trying to sort through a lot of mixed reviews and different telehealth providers. It’s been a bit hard to tell what’s actually reliable versus what’s just marketing.

I recently came across TrimRx and saw a lot of positive feedback, which made me curious if anyone here has real experience with them, especially in terms of support and guidance throughout the process.

I’m considering starting Tirzepatide again, but this time I really want to go with a provider that gives clear instructions and ongoing help, not just a prescription and minimal support afterward.

My goal is fairly modest, around 35 lbs of fat loss. I’m currently about 163 lbs and aiming to get closer to 127 lbs, ideally in a steady and sustainable way.

Any advice or suggestions would truly be appreciated. I thank all of you in advance for the future comments. Thank you. Have a blessed day.
