Pastors and churches promises better hopes of life by having faith. My parents been following churches like this for a long time and my life and everyone’s in my family is getting worse. The most successful person in the church is always the person on the stage who promises for examples like with faith anyone can become a millionaire and trillionaire. Trust me to achieve this requires much much more than faith and you don’t need religion for that either, Elon Musk is an Atheist. People donate money as tilthing/offerings or seeds and still their life is the same way (most). Not to mention even mainstream Christianity is against this which leads to more speculations and questioning like how could a 16-17 century denomination even be correct over the older Catholic and Orthodoxy denominations. The reason why I say Pentecostal seems aligned with what Karl Marx was worried about is that religion is used to take profit of the poor and comfort the working class without realizing that they’re in the same circle of no improvement and any improvement had some work involvement from one individual who would then claim that it’s God healing them. Many Christian’s also believe that to have true happiness requires to be Christian. Why is a religion required for true happiness. It is very possible for an Individual to live the happiest life while being an atheist or a Muslim and it’s very possible for a Christian to as well but there’s lot of cases of depressed Christians, who even left the religion and started to experience happiness that hasn’t been present in years. Also notice how Christianity in general especially right wing if things are getting politically has an extremely hate for Communism/Socialism while simultaneously proving all the things going on in many churches. I feel like there is an indeed a connection.
